@MKBHD IMO that’s irrelevant. Vision Pro launching in 2023 is the equivalent of the Mac launching in 1984. It’s ground breaking tech that wasn’t ready for mass market adoption at launch but eventually impacted the daily lives of billions.

@thesamparr @rohitdotmittal It’s not common, but it’s common enough. If he landed at Google 15+ years ago, and got good grants, and also invested well, yes it’s very possible. Tens of thousands of people were in the right place at the right time.

@eyeslasho The GRE is for applying to grad school. Most CS, EE, SWE majors don't take the GRE as they can get great jobs without going to grad school. In other words, many of the smartest aren't taking that test, and aren't included in that data set. Misleading conclusion.

@sweatystartup If you have: - energy / work ethic - a sense of urgency - communication skills - ability to lead / delegate But don’t put yourself in an ownership position you will not get rich. Lots of folks have the things above but lack the courage to be wealthy.

@realEstateTrent Thats how James Randel got into the biz. He’s the author of Confessions of a Real Estate Entrepreneur. It’s one of my favorite real estate autobiographies. He got his JD from Columbia, was working as an attorney and saw his clients crushing it.

@AdultingIsEasy Any debt that pays for itself is good debt. The debt “paying for itself” is where the borrower must have sufficient financial IQ and access to investment products. Example: in 2021 I took out a $100K loan at 4%, to invest in a deal that pays 18%. Great use of debt.

@JamesClear At Netflix we used Green (no improvement needed) Yellow (ok , but needs some attention) Red (broken, must be fixed) This was very helpful for assessing the status of different internal systems, and can also be applied to other areas like relationships, etc

I've spent so much time around engineers and analytical types that I've become too reliant on using logic and evidence to make my arguments. Gotta learn to use emotion to appeal to other types. Not everyone places the same value on facts and evidence. Can't be one dimensional!
