I help active and aspiring entrepreneurs become more courageous in just 4 weeks. Signed $7.9M personal guarantee. Left $583K W-2. Ex-product @ Netflix & Apple.
@lonesfeels
It takes courage to have adult conversations, and many of us were never shown how to have them.
Without explicit modeling or instruction we default to the path of least resistance.
@bolau_
Product makes sure the right thing is built. Engineering makes sure the thing is built right. Design makes sure the thing looks and feels right.
@MKBHD
IMO that’s irrelevant.
Vision Pro launching in 2023 is the equivalent of the Mac launching in 1984.
It’s ground breaking tech that wasn’t ready for mass market adoption at launch but eventually impacted the daily lives of billions.
@SPAC_KING
Lol, I understand cashflow. I also understand that personal finance is personal. To each their own. I save and invest every month while also enjoying living by myself. Money has no intrinsic value; the point is to exchange it for something that does
@CJ_Johnson17th
I get your point but that’s a totally fair question. You can still be financially responsible and have your own spot; especially if you’re doing $50k/mo. The two aren’t mutually exclusive
@thesamparr
@rohitdotmittal
It’s not common, but it’s common enough.
If he landed at Google 15+ years ago, and got good grants, and also invested well, yes it’s very possible.
Tens of thousands of people were in the right place at the right time.
@eyeslasho
The GRE is for applying to grad school.
Most CS, EE, SWE majors don't take the GRE as they can get great jobs without going to grad school.
In other words, many of the smartest aren't taking that test, and aren't included in that data set.
Misleading conclusion.
@sweatystartup
If you have:
- energy / work ethic
- a sense of urgency
- communication skills
- ability to lead / delegate
But don’t put yourself in an ownership position you will not get rich.
Lots of folks have the things above but lack the courage to be wealthy.
@rohitdotmittal
Facts:
- VC industry at large is a rigged game; one might even call it a scam
- (the vast majority of) Founders and employees hold common stock while VCs hold preferred equity
- Sanity metrics are closely held and guarded while vanity metrics are promoted and broadcasted
@petergyang
@motionbynick
Not a complete waste. The patent portfolio + tech + ecosystem gives them a big advantage in the future if they launch a product to directly compete with Meta Raybans.
@realEstateTrent
Thats how James Randel got into the biz. He’s the author of Confessions of a Real Estate Entrepreneur. It’s one of my favorite real estate autobiographies. He got his JD from Columbia, was working as an attorney and saw his clients crushing it.
Give your best effort everyday.
Unapologetically pursue your dreams.
Work on something you believe in with people you respect, learn from and enjoy being around.
@AdultingIsEasy
Any debt that pays for itself is good debt.
The debt “paying for itself” is where the borrower must have sufficient financial IQ and access to investment products.
Example: in 2021 I took out a $100K loan at 4%, to invest in a deal that pays 18%.
Great use of debt.
@JamesClear
At Netflix we used
Green (no improvement needed)
Yellow (ok , but needs some attention)
Red (broken, must be fixed)
This was very helpful for assessing the status of different internal systems, and can also be applied to other areas like relationships, etc
@chiefmarrr
@SaycheeseDGTL
Exactly. That could’ve been lucrative in other ways like touring.
Also, Super Bowl performers don’t get paid either, but find it a net positive ROI.
@realEstateTrent
When you realize time is finite and money is infinite, completely made up, has zero intrinsic value, and it’s sole utility comes from the ability to trade it for actual things of value.
@realEstateTrent
When it comes maintenance, repairs and expenses? Renting.
When it comes to equity build up, and paid-off mortgages? Owning.
In the long term, you can’t beat buying a good property on a nice piece of land in a neighborhood you enjoy living in.
Owning FTW
@anuatluru
Yes that’s certainly possible.
It’s also possible they have stayed in a mediocre friendship out of familiarity and sense of obligation.
I’ve seen both.
@nurijanian
The product management skillset can be much more valuable outside of a formal product management role. Entrepreneurial PMs quickly realize this and turn themselves into the product.
@buildordie_
@rabois
Hard disagree. This type of thinking has caused a lot of pain for a lot of teams and companies.
Example: Michael Jordan. Excellent player; lousy GM and owner.
@MultifamilyMad
They’re professional liars. Imagine a stereotypical used car salesman, but with more ambition, polish, and an elite pedigree and network. That’s basically our government.
@garyhgoodridge
I get your point and used to think exactly this way. As I've matured, I've learned to have more grace with others, while protecting my boundaries. Humans are complex and messy.
A high quality gym is a great investment.
It’s not just conducive to improving your health, it’s also a great place to organically meet other high quality people.
One of the highest ROI vehicles.
@cenkuygur
In terms of legislation, I think it would look pretty much the same.
Corporations and wealthy donors would still advance their interests (via lobbyists influencing congress).
Adopting Biggie has been one of the best increases to my quality of life.
Being a dog dad has exceeded my expectations.
I'm truly grateful to have him in my life.

@henrykleeKTVU
@oaklandpoliceca
They won’t call a state of emergency because it is viewed as an acknowledgement of incompetence and will hurt their political careers.
Sad, disgusting and infuriating; but not surprising!
I've spent so much time around engineers and analytical types that I've become too reliant on using logic and evidence to make my arguments. Gotta learn to use emotion to appeal to other types. Not everyone places the same value on facts and evidence. Can't be one dimensional!
@DoerflerJared
Every year I check something off my bucket list. A couple years ago I paid $575 to play Pebble. Was an awesome experience. The birdie on

@LayahHeilpern
Dear Layah, I prefer my Apple Watch over a traditional watch, as it has at least 10X the utility. If that's an issue of concern for you, we're not meant to be. 🙂
Y’all were right! Mexico City has a lot to offer. Great weather, restaurants, parks, museums, and friendly people.
I will be back!
Thanks for the recommendations

@Livinrentfree_
I've found that giving months a particular theme has helped me make more progress towards my yearly goals.
Example: today is the first day of "Massive Action March"!
What's your theme for the month?
@chrisxmunn
Because organized religion (and party line voting) are based on pledging an allegiance to an institution, regardless of whatever contradicting information exists? 🤔
@chrisxmunn
I love how effective NVIDIA’s CEO has been while eschewing traditional management practices. He Has 40+ direct reports and doesn’t do 1:1s.
Moral of the story: figure out what works best for you and your team.
@ShimminyKricket
@outofoffice90
Exactly!
The same goes for competitive jobs, citizenship, beauty pageants, etc. Being a qualified candidate is table stakes. The rest is out of your control.
@dklineii
Unfortunately, no we all haven’t had that one manager. That’s even more reason for those of us who have been fortunate to have that experience to model it for others. Great managers are rare.
