@NadineDorries It’s not the cake. That’s why you keep referring to cake. It’s not even about the fine (bad though that is, showing it was much more than just cake). It’s knowingly misleading Parliament. 2 years after the events Johnson lied to Parliament that he believed guidance was followed.

I provide a service for the NHS & am paid. She provided a service for me & my family & was paid. No difference.

We need a democratically legitimate head of state and upper chamber, with powers defined by an unambiguous constitution.

As I tell my PhD brother-in -law, it's not convention that I can call myself Dr: it's convention that I don't have an MD. Consultant surgeons here even drop the Dr and revert to Mr.

@Jamin2g I'm not a particular fan, but even I know it's his rule never to speak to journalists outside his home, out of respect to his neighbours. So any journalist knows that if they want to get a "no comment" from him, they just have to ask him outside his home.

I think as a stand-alone issue the Cummings thing is clear cut. He broke the rules badly for small benefit (no child care within 270m?) while others (for the common good) didn’t even bend them as their parents died alone. Whose side you’re on is a litmus test for common decency.
