That’s my secret. I’m always angry at people who claim to care about climate change whilst shutting down nuclear power plants.
This is a BIG deal - the first of Indian Point's nuclear reactors is shutting down this month & New York State is moving toward a 100% #RenewableEnergy future! . Be sure to check out @Beyond_IP and their incredible campaign! #BeyondIndianPoint

@figar0x I would deal with it without punching a child, because I’m a normal person and not an internet hard man?.

A paralysed man in a chair guiding a civilisation for millennia with the power of his mind has a bit of a Warhammer 40k vibe to it.
First human to receive the Neuralink brain implant used it to stay up all night and play #Civilization6 . “It was awesome”

Look… who are we to say their anti-capitalist ideology is wrong? Maybe they are right and we are the ones who are mistaken. Tell you what, to settle the matter, let’s divide Germany in half and let them rule one half for say, 40 years? And then we can check back and see if.
The Anti-Tesla activists brake through the police lines and reach the fence of #Gigafactory. Police seems disoriented. #DisruptTesla #Grünheide

I hate this tactic with a burning passion. Its a cynical hack on the fact that the police have effectively suppressed violence in the general population. They can fuck with you as much as they like, flaunting their power to do so, and be confident if you touch a hair on their.
Locals push trolleys into protesting vegans blocking the meat aisle at Sainsbury’s. Outside of London everyone is fed up with these lunatics.

“Russia owning our base load electricity supply is fine though”.
NEWS: Former German chancellor Angela Merkel said today: “If a person like Elon Musk owns 60% of all satellites orbiting in space, then that has to be a huge concern for us.”. What's the concern, exactly? There is no concern – It's just vague and baseless fearmongering, as usual.

I said I wasn’t going to post on this anymore but this interview is jaw dropping. The politicians and media insist that “two tier policing” is nothing more than a far right conspiracy theory - then the police openly admit it’s true on Sky News. Nobody else gets to choose to.
West Midlands Police discuss disorder that kicked off after misinformation spread online. The Sky News crew covering the unrest in Birmingham were followed by a man holding a knife and wearing a balaclava after broadcasting live.

@jamesrbuk @theipaper This is mental. There are no grounds to prosecute him. Why are you fixated on having your political opponents arrested?.

This is obviously going to piss a lot of people off. But it addresses a serious problem. Old people without kids claiming money off the state is a classic free rider problem. It can’t be maintained forever. Plummeting birth rates and increasing demands from the old is already.
JD Vance says Americans without children should “face the consequences and the reality” and not get “nearly the same voice” in democracy. Vance: “Let’s give votes to all children in this country, but let’s give control over those votes to the parents of those children.”

At the start of the 20th century, recurring famine was a big problem for humanity. Fritz Haber came up with a tech solution. Lenin came up with a political solution. Compare and contrast the results since.
The most insidious form of climate denial is no longer, "It's not happening," but the belief that incremental or tech solutions will solve this crisis. 1/6

@maxtempers I just don’t think most British people want to believe it’s real. Just can’t face it.

It will be interesting to see the public reaction to @blueorigin recovering a booster for the first time - might not be on their first launch, but I’m sure they will get it in short order. Once another company is doing reuse, it’s not longer going to be just some crazy thing

I plug my kettle into the wall and it immediately starts dumping 3kW into the water. Let’s not romanticise low energy living. Low energy living is poverty.
Inspired by solar furnaces, this parabolic mirror concentrates light onto a focal point, and can be consequently used for more mundane tasks in place of industrial purposes.

Elysium was a gorgeous, but stupid film. Literal social commentary is that greedy rich people are hoarding. healthcare? Like there is a pile of healthcare and they are keeping it all?.
Beautiful render of a rotating space station inspired by 2013's 'Elysium'. #space #art by Greg McKechnie.

So after @elonmusk laid out the plan for 5 Starships to Mars in 2026, I went to crunch the numbers. Happily I was already working on this, but now I’ve got a specific number to work with. So 🧵 time…. Here are the three upcoming Mars windows. 2026, 2028/29 and 2031.

I seem to recall that too. Trump needs to be removed from any public platform, arrested and charged with treason if need be.

Recent paper confirms that megafauna extinction was caused by humans. Maximum body mass of animals had been steadily increasing until it dropped of a cliff in the late Pleistocene / early Holocene:. Other than being cool, megafauna had a large impact on ecosystems. They spread

@OldRowSwig @FLmoon47 Then presumably that 8 million was contingent on allowing himself to be captured by that audience he didn't align with. He probably made enough off his 15 minutes to make himself very comfortable without having to ride the wave of increasingly deranged political fans.
