IUD insertion and pain relief is a huge controversy. It’s one of the reasons my then 19-year-old daughter chose Nexplanon. I would have preferred she have a copper IUD. Ob/Gyns have been WAY behind on pain control for women bc the system hates us. And I am a physician.
