The arrival of my beautiful new grandson is an absolute miracle. And equally marvellous to me is that with a new baby, a support bubble can be formed and *guess what* I got to hug and kiss my grown-up son for the first time in a YEAR ♥️

When my mum passed away I paid the electricity bill then got another a month later. They wanted me to do a 140 mile round trip to read the meter. I told them to read it themselves and whilst there, exterminate the pixies in the garden who must have been using all the electricity

Well said. I had an ex husband who insisted on “rights”, and stockpiled a nest egg while my boys wore jumble sale clothes, lived in a cold house with rotting windows and came within a hair’s breadth of having the electricity cut off while I patched together five part time jobs.

Young people get so much unjustified criticism. A few years ago my youngest son was just old enough to go to town with his friends and was late home one afternoon. He’d walked home, having used his bus fare money to buy a homeless man a McDonalds

Carrying the hairdryer through, the wire unravelled, I tripped over it and trod barefoot on the upturned plug. Lots of blood and swearing. Bugger!

My husband is a taxi driver, not back to work as he is 65 and has asthma. His “low” skill set involves not only driving all over the country but looking after elderly passengers, doing accounts, managing three electronic devices and knowing this area like the back of his hand.

Rang 111 this morning as Mr F unable to tolerate light and still awful head/vomiting. They sent paramedics as suspected meningitis, but luckily not. They think dehydration, sinus infection and v high BP, have got meds now and he has to rest and drink plenty 🤞

My husband worked and paid taxes/NI for 50 years. He’s now retired, and is a carer for a 94 year old, and part time carer for our grandson so his mum can go out to work. I think he’s contributed enough! There are also almost 2 million unemployed people under retirement age 🤷🏻♀️

My husband recently retired as a taxi driver in Yorkshire. Most of his conversations (and there were many!) were about the passengers themselves and he always asked longer distance ones whether they wanted to chat or have peace and quiet. It was part of the service he provided.

If only this were true! We had a tree on council land overhanging our fence. They came and inspected it, agreed it needed cutting back but said they wouldn’t do it as it didn’t pose a danger. They allowed us to pay for cutting it right back though. Thanks, Council.

Gardening disaster.
This morn our poly hut contained 2 courgette plants, 7 tomatoes and 3 lettuces. Horrendous sudden gust of howling wind, now just 1 courgette left. Back to the drawing board! 😢

In the past I’ve seen weekly meal plans online costing buttons. I was a single parent with two teenage boys. It suggested veg soup for their main meal. As one of the boys spent his days loading lorries, I thought this wasn’t viable. Depends what side of the fence you’re on, eh?

When it started in the 80s, I loved it (never forgotten Frank Bruno acting as Juliet) but now not only is it an over-hyped behemoth, there have been all too many tales about the money side and where the funding goes. It’s a no from me.

I’m really finding this. I’m delighted to see friends again, but what’s disturbing is the noise when I’m out and about, and lack of social distance (which I don’t think should be happening yet) But lockdown has given me chance to choose what to recommence and what to discard 😀

So many times I see premises boast they are “disability friendly” (terrible term!!) when what they mean is a wheelchair user could just about get in. No thought for other needs such as visual impairment, autism or the many other needs (and as you say, not even chairs!)

I was being stalked/hassled by my ex. Police made two appts to come and advise. Didn’t turn up (or phone) Situ continued. We phoned a 3rd time: my now husband explained my requests had been ignored so he was off to beat up my ex. Surprisingly they arrived within moments 🤷🏻♀️

Early on, I had an ultrasound. Doc was v abrupt and silent. I thought he was rude. Few weeks later, same doc. Another U/S. Suddenly he said, “I’m pleased to tell you I can’t see a spread. Last time I was so upset as I could see cancer but wasn’t allowed to tell you, I’m sorry”

We ordered a multi perennials collection for the garden. It arrived this aft, we shut ourselves in the freezing garage and potted them up for the little greenhouse. There are 144. Good grief, it took ages. The greenhouse is crowded and the coming month will show what flourishes

Monumental fail. Yesterday I carefully prepared a load of veg plus diced chicken and bacon, and this morning I smugly put it all into the slow cooker with chasseur mix. Two hours later Mr F pointed out I hadn’t even switched it on 🤣

Not a good start to the week! on the way to Tesco, in a stationary line of traffic, bloke drove bang into the back of us and shoved us into the car in front. Car undriveable. I am very bruised and my chest and sides feel as if I’ve done 5 million sit-ups, OW!

Wow. In my psychotherapy career I’ve worked with clients like Talitha, who’ve come from a background of abuse and parental sexualisation. Very difficult. Glad this drama has tackled it and acknowledged the damage this abuse has done
