"Cis" itself is Latin and here means one whose gender is in agreement with what others said it is, usually based on anatomy at birth.

@halomancer1 Mom told me Dad was trans, 7 yr after Dad died. She was proud to have "shut that down" to protect me. I came out to Dad's 2nd wife when she thought I'm my sister. It had been years. Step-mom was totally cool, offered me lemonade. Methinks Dad was very out to my step-mom.

In 4 hours I am at hospital for surgery to remove my right adrenal gland. It is so problematic my cisgender doctors have rushed it through the queue even though it incidentally is gender affirming surgery.
