My actual professor of critical race theory in law school said “John Brown was white, what do you have to be ashamed of personally unless you identify more with the enslavers than with John Brown?”.
A teacher in South Carolina was reported by her students for teaching Ta-Nehisi Coates’s “Between the World and Me.”. The students explained that the book made them ashamed to be White, violating a clause forbidding teachers from making students “feel discomfort, guilt, anguish,

I think there’s a clear answer to this: this particular child sex trafficking narrative where the enemy is strangers (rather than family members, church leaders, etc) justifies a lot of racist and queer phobic viewpoints. It justifies a constant police state. /1.
I truly do not understand how angry and emotional people get when you tell them that their kids are not likely to be kidnapped from their safe neighborhood by strangers and sold for sex tourists. Can someone who is a parent explain this to me?.

@RQMontgomery I understand that but what I said is still true. They assigned a Black actress the role when they didn’t care about the part and then when the character became more prominent, knowing they already had a credited Black actress in the role, they cast a white actress.

Not gonna sugar coat this, I represent a lot of protestors and if police want to arrest you, they will. “Disturbing the peace,” “blocking a walk way” whatever. Anyone who thinks these drag bills won’t be used to arrest trans people for being trans in public is naive.
Three bills just dropped in Arizona that would define "people dressing opposite of their biological sex at birth and exaggerating their gender" as "adult content.". It says they can only do it in strip clubs, not before noon on Sundays. It threatens them with criminal records.
