"Suppressed by the Latins." 🤣
This poor lad is so delusional.
"Orthodoxy is thriving." Yeah, all those 20-member parishes now have 30 members. Most of whom will leave within the next few years.
Meanwhile, the US Catholic Church has just held a Eucharistic Congress....
Orthobros admit converting to Orthodoxy is an internet phenomenon.
“We were suppressed by the Latin but then the internet was invented and everything changed”
This is their printing press moment. Let them enjoy.
VATICAN CITY— Pope Francis condemns surrogacy, “gender theory” and transgender sex change in new document, “Dignitas infinita”.

I'm confused. Is Pope Francis "watering down the papacy" in the name of synodality and ecumenism? Or is he the Dictator Pope about to eliminate the TLM by despotic executive fiat?
Which is it? 🤷
What’s happening? Why are Catholic churches often being targeted?
Since May 2020, there have been at least 410 attacks against Catholic churches in the United States.
Nearly a hundred churches across Canada have been burned down or vandalized within a span of a few years.

Yes, it actually does start fermenting like that.
Look up the history of grape juice. It literally did not exist until Mr. Welch invented it.
...attended by 50,000 people. At ONE venue. That's more than the entire membership of ROCOR and OCA combined. It's exponentially more than the membership of the Antiochians. Not even close.
But "Orthodoxy is thriving." All 5,000 of you. 🤷
They're like sharks smelling chum. Their own communion is riddled with scandals and issues, but rather than address their own problems, they fixate on ours. We don't do this to them.
@TheBibleIsJesus
There was no such thing as grape juice in first-century Palestine. Grapes start fermenting as soon as they ripen. Fermentation = wine. Welch developed grape juice *after* the advent of pasteurization. It was literally impossible to stop fermentation before then. This is....
I know a few Catholics, and I am hearing rumors of many more, who are building chapels in their homes, with altars, preparing for the Francis persecution of Traditional Catholics, which is supposed to begin sometime in July. They’re going back “underground.”
"In Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek."
That's from the Bible. The Word of God.
Every single human being is created in the image and likeness of God. Every single human being is infinitely loved by God. Jesus died for everyone.
Both RC & Orthodox bigots need to repent.

Why are Orthobros like this?
It's like...have they ever heard of other cultures?
What if we were to mock that horrible Cathedral of the Armed Services? 😬
Australia’s Sydney is witnessing a revival of the Catholic faith! 🔥

The position of the Stigmata is more iconographic than realistic.

Oh my gosh. Welcome home! I know this is a huge step. We're covering you with prayer. May the Lord Jesus envelop you with His love, grace, and mercy. God bless you and keep you always!
I saw a headline indicating that the teen who died in the OceanGate implosion had been terrified to go on the expedition. It hit me like a punch in the gut. Does Our Lord lead us to pray for someone, even retroactively, because He means to save that person? Please say yes!!!

I grew up Catholic in the '50s and '60s. We had a big, beautiful Catholic Bible, and we were encouraged to read it.
I still have it. I inherited it from my parents.
My husband also grew up Catholic. He still has his Saint Joseph's Bible from his childhood.
Exactly. Amen.
And no, it's not just a result of Dyerism. It's Convertodoxy in general. I used to frequent an interfaith message board, long Dyer came along. The Orthodox converts there were rabidly anti-Catholic & just plain nasty. Everyone else noticed it. Interestingly....
@superxtianmario
That's only the case because Orthodox hostility over the years has turned Catholics away from being friendly with you.
For Catholics, it was cool to learn you guys existed, that you believed mostly the same faith, and had awe-inspiring traditions.
This meme exists for a reason.
@DrGTerry
@AP
Are you serious? My kids are teachers. Conservative teachers are being bullied by the woke mob. LGBTQIA+ bullies intimidate normie kids into silence, often violently, and the teachers can't do anything about it, because pusillanimous administrations don't have their back.
They're obsessed with me. It would be flattering if it weren't so creepy.
St Teresa of Avila, pray for this poor deluded soul who keeps blaspheming you. 🙏❤️🙏
@ortho_bruh
You have chosen the grave sin of schism. May the Immaculata bring you quickly back to the One True Holy Catholic Church founded by her Divine Son explicitly on Kepha the Rock.
P.S. Female Deacons.
This is why I could never be Orthodox. Yes, I am fully persuaded by the Biblical & Patristic arguments for the papacy. But even more, I am persuaded by the universality of the Catholic Church. We have both West & East (and North & South). I could never give up my precious saints!
“Why did you leave Orthodoxy”
Lots of reasons, I could make a theological thread but I don’t find those to be fruitful.
My devotion to St. Rose of Lima, St. Teresa of Avila, and Our Lady of Guadalupe are what ultimately led me here. I’ve reached a point where I couldn’t see my

I just can't anymore.... 🤦
@InuConquistador
Ecclesiastical Latin probably *is* close to the way classical Latin was pronounced. Just because a bunch of 19th-century Germans decided that classical Latin was pronounced like German, that doesn't make it so. It just reveals their bigoted prejudices. Kinda like yours. 🤷

BTW, when Dyer, Truglia, Erhan & company earn a PhD from Harvard in Byzantine history, please do get back to me. 🤗
And yeah, my husband gives me the low-down on the vagaries of Eastern Church History. So, even if I'm dumb, I'm well informed.
@LPhitney
I lived through it, too, and I acknowledge all that.
But now I'm in the Charlotte Diocese, which is growing exponentially.
I don't blame VCII itself. I blame "the Spirit of Vatican II," which predated VCII itself.
History is messy & complicated.
Very strange. My account was locked. I passed a stupid (but very simple) test to unlock it. And now, apparently, I'm not following anyone. But I was actually following almost 2,000 people. Now I have to re-follow y'all. This is weird.
@michaeljknowles
I disagree. When my husband was a non-resident tutor at Leverett House, during his time as a doctoral student at Harvard, he taught a few of those "legacy admissions." 😬
Meritocracy should be meritocratic. 🤷

So wrong!
The Song of Bernadette.

Citizen Kane.

The Thin Man.
The Maltese Falcon.

All the old screwball comedies: Bringing Up Baby, Libeled Lady, Ninotchka, It Happened One Night, My Man Godfrey, etc.
Too many to mention!
Everyone is waking up to the Truth of Catholicism while this guy will continue to pump out copium about how we’re all believing “papist lies”.
What a pathetic crybaby.
I'm so glad I'm getting off X for Lent. Both the anti-Catholic Protestants & the Terminally Online Orthobros have been off the chain lately with their insane bigotry, hate-filled slander & ignorant idiocy. Has anyone else noticed this? (Asking Catholics only. Will block bigots.)

@metathomist
He graciously accepted it, because he's not an impolite jackass who never learned basic manners. Then he proceeded to discard it.
@FutureHOF3
Over 25% of the Catholic Mass consists of Scripture readings. There is far more Bible in the Catholic Mass than in any evangelical Protestant service.
I just blocked a bunch of people, and my timeline is so much more peaceful.
Lord Jesus, please help me to understand that I don't have to answer every stunningly stupid argument made by every single ignorant anti-Catholic bigot on the Internet. 🤗
@langluigi_
I’m calling it. Your friend is a liar or extremely confused, and you are gullible as all hell as long as you have some way to throw shit on Catholics.
Every Christian communion opposed artificial contraception until 1930, when the Anglicans capitulated to the Zeitgeist. Now the Orthodox have capitulated, too. This gal is trying to justify that by claiming that EO's abject surrender to modernism reflects superior spirituality.🤦
When I saw the debate with Catholics and Orthodox about the use of condoms, I didn't even pay attention because its a ridiculous debate. But that debate revealed something. The lack of spirituality and faith in Catholicism. That lack of spirituality is substituted by legalism.
That's my diocese!! We are a relatively young missionary diocese in the heart of the Bible Belt -- and we are booming! Thank You, Jesus, for Bishop Jugis. Please let us keep him forever!
A thread on the list of the dioceses in US that have been seeing a boom in priestly vocations
Diocese of Charlotte
As many as 51 young men are doing their priesthood formation for the diocese of Charlotte in North Carolina, which has just around 400000 Catholics.

Nobody gets embarrassed by Jay Dyer, sweetheart. Talking over people, shouting them down, trying to change the subject, melting down, and rage-quitting -- that's only embarrassing for the dude doing it. It makes him look like a jackass.
Oh my gosh. Where do these people get this stuff? The literal Lord's Prayer summons demons? The Angelic Salutation summons demons?
How can anyone be attracted to this insane religion? 🤦
I have been saying this forever. When I was in college, Eastern Religion was the big fad. Now it's Eastern Orthodoxy. Exactly the same dynamic: a puerile adolescent aversion to "The West" (because it represents Mommy and Daddy 🙄).
Italy is Western Civilization Central. Every town seems to have its own exquisite church or crypt or cathedral. It's Art History 101 from one end to the other and beyond.
In Italy you can just swing in for Vigil Mass at a little place like this. There are two larger churches nearby including the cathedral. Crazy what our backwards ancestors could cook up.
Yep. It's actual ordination to Holy Orders. And the Orthobros can't claim, "Well, I'm not in that jurisdiction, so it doesn't affect me." Yes, it does. You're in communion with that jurisdiction, which has NOT been excommunicated. Either you're one united church or you aren't. 🤷
@Hyperchungus
@MilitantThomist
And this is far from the pettiest of their silly battles.
Once an Orthobro told me that EOxy is superior because they don't bring the collection money into the sanctuary, presumably because it's worldly (but not too worldly to be used, of course). I was like, "WHO cares?" 🤦
Good question. I wouldn't use the R Word, but this is ridiculous.
And then these dudes accuse me of being "obsessed" with Orthobro accounts. No, y'all. You guys keep posting anti-Catholic coal. It pops up in my tl. And I'm not going to let the lies go unanswered. Sue me. 🤗
This is risible.
Again, if these dudes seriously think that the largest, most vibrant Church on the planet is going to give away the farm to a shrinking ethnocentric church a quarter of its size, then they need an intervention.
@funkpower316
@metathomist
There are no holes in our theology. Jay Dyer lies, slanders, and calumniates. And he doesn't know the Fathers. There are Catholic Patristics experts who know Latin and Greek. Dyer doesn't. He's a grifter and a con man. Pray for him, but don't listen to him.
@FeserEdward
That's unfair and simply not true. We criticize Trump all the time. His faults are visible from space. Everybody knows about them. After all these years, he's an open book.
But he is still exponentially better than Biden. No comparison. If Biden is reelected, America is over.
