The line of people going up for baptism last night. Confirmations the people took up both sides of the altar rail.
And this is just our tiny little N.O. parish. I wish I had greater insight into what is going on right now, why this year so many feel drawn.
There is something unique happening. My priest mentioned last night how when discussing with his other priest friends, they all had record numbers entering the Church last night.
I have heard this from elsewhere too.

NPS barred our KoC from holding their annual Memorial Day Mass at a local cemetery. They said religious "demonstrations" will no longer be allowed on government property. A judge today ruled in our favor, Mass will be held tomorrow at the cemetery. Small but meaningful win.

I think this kid is new to his faith so I'll give him a bit of a pass, but this did make me chuckle. For years I only ever saw Catholics who sincerely thought EO were their brothers in faith. It was the EO attitudes that overtime soured this. It was so known it was a meme lol

11 years go I was received into the Catholic Church.
My priest took us aside & said in the early Church in North Africa one could walk from Levant to the coast by light of the candles on Easter.
That image has always stuck with me.

There is no "de-canonization" process. The magisterium can suppress the veneration of a saint, or limit it to a local cult, but Simon is most certainly among the Triumphant.

1st, the ceremony *precedes* the Mass. Mass hasnt begun. This follows liturgical committees requests for incorporating cultural norms into peoples worship time.

I found that a good priest will be able to guide the confessional process. Mine deduced from what I had confessed, & brought up points that got me thinking, & honestly on the spot I thought of like 5 or 6 sins I hadn't remembered.
