When you reduce marriage from a sacrament to a party, this makes perfect sense. I'll gladly eat dinner with people of different creeds and lifestyles. But I won't participate in a public ceremony designed to be an endorsement of their relationship for the good of the community.

I'm sorry, we can't have it both ways. Either sexuality and gender are fixed and determined which makes transgenderism utterly incompatible with this worldview or they are not fixed which makes conversion therapy perfectly compatible.
The Catholic Church, including the US bishops, should reject so-called "conversion therapy," "reparative therapy" or "ex-gay" therapy. Such programs have been discredited by nearly every reputable psychiatrist, cause immense psychological harm to people, and "cure" nothing.
