To Rome: there are really only three truly Protestant affiliations: Anglican, Reformed, and Lutheran. Everything else is either a breakoff from these traditions or part of the Anabaptist movement. The point being that there are not 30,000+ Protestant denominations.

Dispensationalism has done more damage than nearly any other modern theological system of thought. I believe many dispensationalists genuinely love Christ, but their system is destructive to its very core. Don't fall prey to its lies.

I ended the second day of Synod with some good old fashioned chanting in the company of many faithful Anglicans. I love my diocese. The people here are the real deal. Praise be to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

True. Many think that it is a grave sin to stand against diversity. However, on a cultural level, if you have too many ideas, religions, and ethnic backgrounds, you end up with no culture at all. People need to learn the difference between racism and basic cultural preservation.

Rome wants me to ignore all of the the Eastern churches. The East wants me to ignore Rome and some of the other Eastern churches. This is one of the reasons I’m Anglican. I cannot comprehend these communions being entirely cut off from “the Church.”.

Dispensationalism is evil because instead of the Church — the body of Christ — being the pinnacle and eschatological fulfillment of the people of God, it becomes a mere parenthesis in God’s ultimate plan which is for national Israel, which includes a return to type and shadow.

The Bishop of Rome — claimed to be the symbol of unity in the Catholic Church — has been the single greatest catalyst for every great schism within that same Catholic Church. I find this to be compelling evidence against the Papal claims of Rome.

Even the reformers would say that faith + works = salvation. They would have argued that works are unnecessary for justification, but since salvation covers justification, regeneration, sanctification, and glorification, of course works are included in that.

Even if the Pope has confirmed that same-sex union isn't being blessed, it would seem that those in unrepentant mortal sin can now be blessed. I fail to see how this is not a huge moral failure that will lead to confusion at best and at worst, the damnation of souls.

Anglicans need to be willing to speak of our fathers in the faith as saints. For example: St. Thomas Cranmer, or St. Lancelot Andrewes. Canonization has always begun locally. We need to begin formally venerating these saints and others like them who have lived holy lives.

If “turn the other cheek” requires pacifism, we essentially become Marcionites that must view the OT God as distinct from the NT God represented in Jesus Christ. In other words, to be orthodox we must recognize that turning the other cheek does not at all rule out violence.

Hot take: Baptists are more theologically consistent on baptism than Presbyterians. This idea of being baptized, but not REALLY being united to Christ is silly and ahistorical. Both baptismal regeneration advocates and Baptists see that. Perhaps the only commonality.

If the true faith is exclusive to Rome or the East, leaving us to strain and labor to discern which one is the "true Church," I am afraid that the devil has succeeded in making truth harder to discern than error. This is one of the primary reasons I remain Anglican. .

The Altar, not the pulpit, should be the center of Christian worship. The pulpit is extremely important, but it serves as a means to draw people into a readiness to receive Christ's body and blood. It is not the main course by itself.
