I did NOT want to move to South Louisiana to plant a church.
I remember getting the first phone call from a pastor friend who was telling me about church planting opportunities in a small town in the deep south. I said flatly, “No. I’m not interested.”
The town was a dead end,
About six months ago our church made the first steps to start singing less “Jesus is my boyfriend” music and more theologically rich, historically Christian, and beautiful music.
We’ve plodded along, and it’s taken a bit of work. We meet on Wednesdays and practice a bit before
Since I’ve landed in the trad catholic twitter algorithm, I’m going to take advantage of that.
- The pope is the Antichrist.
- Mary worship is idolatry.
- The Catholic mass commits apostasy every time it is enacted.
- The modern priesthood is a sea of sodomites that grooms
I don't know who needs to see this but in South Louisiana we have:
- Two solid reformed churches w/ thriving young families.
- A 12 year old classical Christian school (ACCS) with almost it's first batch of graduating seniors.
- $110/sf house prices.
- Strong local economy.
-
Having more children actually MADE us money.
Many avoid having large families because of the cost. I get it. It can be daunting. But that’s not what happened to us at all.
Let me explain.
My wife and I got married young. Which also means, to say it plainly, we were broke. We
A few quick signs that you’re walking in to a healthy church:
- there is a general joyful din in the room when you walk in. Friends catching up with each other.
- kids are there with their parents, and they’re happy about it.
- small children are in the service, dads and
Right Wing Watch over here teaching my Bible Study class for me.
Y’all listen up. If a nation obeys Jesus it’s blessed, if it doesn’t it’s cursed. Cheers!
Dusty Deevers is a far-right pastor and member of the Oklahoma state senate who seems to love nothing more than using his political position to demand theocracy: "Nations will rise and fall on the basis of their submission to Christ!"
@ThomisticRednek
Just finishing a fight that needed to be finished and taking advantage of the algorithm to preach repentance and the true gospel.
Repent and believe.
Quick review of this week:
- DEI gets banned in Oklahoma
-
@DustyDeevers
wins his race by a healthy margin
-
@VoteCassidy
tears down a monument to Satan in his state capitol
- some random saint sticks a “Christ is Lord” sticker on the Satan monument’s severed head
What a week.
@numeroustimes
So here’s the problem. No where does the Bible imply angels/demons can procreate.
In fact, if anything Jesus says the opposite when he says they neither marry nor are given in marriage.
I also think the demigod theory is reading a culture into the text.
@SoftwareEUG
Actually, it was Christians who stopped the witch hunts. And the crusades aren’t what folks think they are. And I’m obviously not a papist or a divine right guy.
You guys really gotta do the reading. Geez. This is embarrassing.
At least make an original argument.
I remember when I moved to Acadiana and took my first job with my new wife. We were fresh out of college, had no idea how clueless we were, but ready to take a swing at life together.
Then, by some mysterious force, my wife became pregnant with our first. We didn’t know much at
Alright. Let’s walk through this slowly for everyone’s benefit.
First, let’s say out loud that when you say “Bible” and I say “Bible” we mean two different things. Your Bible was most recently added to in response to the Protestant reformation in the 1500s. Let’s call it, for
The Bible as the Authority?
When did this happen?
382?
1517?
1611?
If your Church can’t credibly claim Apostolic Lineage to 33 A.D. you don’t have a Church.
You have a 501(c)(3).
As for Sola Scriptura . . .

Bro.
Married my wife when she was 19 and I was 20. First born at 22. 17 years of marriage and going strong.
We had the same naysayers. I couldn’t ask for a better life.
@mikepratt
I'm sure it's day-age or something like that.
Here's the problem - did death exist before the fall of man? Is the Genesis account literal? If not, why did Jesus reference it as though it was?
About six months ago I started lifting.
It has been very much a grind. 39 year olds aren’t twenty.
But… you’d be surprised how much a slow and steady discipline like this informs every area of your life.
Today I’m doing 310 in deadlifts. That’s crazy to me, as a guy who
@HwsEleutheroi
“Paul never met Jesus,” was all I needed to hear.
Between that and just how tightly this dude’s legs are crossed, I think we’ve got all the info anyone could need.
@chadvos
It's easily discoverable. You just aren't very connected to the contemporary Christian culture. A quick google of the CCM top 40 will turn up quite a bit.
@tridentineweeb
“Show me where in the Bible”
“Except not here, and make sure you follow my rules.”
lol. Sounds like you already know what’s there. You just don’t want to see it.
@TarienCole
I think if you read it rightly, which is of course the way I'm reading it (ha), it carries one of the same themes as the rest of the Bible.
When you marry non-believers, you lose.
Happy Sabbath everybody!
Celebrating today with a little Elijah Craig, who was a Baptist pastor that was quite industrious. Among his many ventures was a bourbon distillery that helped fund much ministry.
Soli Deo Gloria!
He’s a pastor. He’s a politician. He’s hellbent on banning porn.
Meet the Christian nationalist lawmaker who wants Oklahoma to “obey God” and the government to “terrorize evildoers.”

Achievement unlocked.
These guys might not know it, but they are a big part of why I am who I am today. Grateful for their work.
I still remember the soccer fields with fondness. Cheers! 🍻
One of the biggest lessons I've learned in the last 4 years:
Be faithful locally. Don't build a brand. Put your hands to the work in your backyard.
The national brand-building stuff is often just white noise in an echo chamber. Don't get distracted. Get to work.
Having hung out w/
@TJSumpter
a bit I can verify his household is joyful, his children happy, his wife content, and he one of the most even-keel dudes I know.
Unless you bring up property taxes... then he might get a little pumped up.
@OfLawandMyth
@prosandhans
Says the guy who can't stop trolling heresy on my post.
Go home, papist. And continue to follow your popery into the woke progressive agenda that it's become.
Or, you could repent and turn from that deception... and trust in the Bible as authority rather than Rome.
@stephenaltrogge
Far more of a chance of soul-winning here than the fake-love cheap-grace false-gospel preached by many mainline evangelicals.
Bad news first. Then good news. That’s the Bible’s precedent.
Alright. Hear me out…
Calling all the pastors who within the last year started baptizing babies, but could still technically vote at the SBC convention this year…
We get flights, bus tickets, carpool, whatever… and we get to New Orleans.
And do what? We all vote against
My dad, last June, days before he died, laying hands on my first born praying a blessing over his life. A life my dad would never get to see.
This is what covenant faithfulness looks like.
A heathen saved by grace, passing that covenantal grace to me, and now to my children.
Christians make Christian households.
Christians make Christian businesses.
Christians make Christian education.
This is how the kingdom of Christ is built.
There is no secular, there is no neutral. Be faithful in the everyday and God will give you more opportunity to be
We recently started celebrating the Lord’s Day beginning on Saturday night, kicking it off with a Sabbath dinner feast. We invite all our family, we feast. We celebrate the Lord.
At our feast we do a liturgy at the beginning because one of the things we want to do is build a
Had an interview with a local paper about a statement our church put out asking for the resignation of a local elected official caught in adultery.
We brought our own cameras and turned it into a podcast. Not fully edited yet, but here's the full interview for the curious.

Finally able to come up for air after a phenomenal weekend of our inaugural Tactics Conference.
It was great spending time with folks from all over the gulf south and learning about what it means to build and fight for Christ’s Kingdom.
Thank you to everybody who was a part.
@Brian_Sauve
8-10 is my sweet spot.
I used to feel guilty doing less than twenty, but realistically the other ten was just spent reading lots of unnecessary commentaries.
Hanging with
@canonpress
and some classic cartoons to close out our pre-party before the Lord’s day.
“Dad can we watch some more of these?”
Yes we can, son. Yes we can.
Hi.
I see that “White Christians” is trending. And I know exactly why.
So I just wanted to say: I am a White Christian Pastor who doesn’t support Donald Trump, but I will in a heartbeat if it’s between him and Joe Biden, and so far it looks like it is.
You’re welcome.
@Osmomforever
I'd say our student-age kids are far more engaged than any youth group I've seen. (I was a youth pastor and traveling speaker for a time)
But we also don't have a youth ministry intentionally. We equip and call the parents to do that job.
Who do you think is the go-to Christian successfully engaging our culture right now?
My two picks are
@douglaswils
and
@William_E_Wolfe
- any other follows I should make?
I’m convinced this conference is going to be critical for Jesus’s church in the Deep South and effecting Gospel change and transformation in the years to come.
If you are a pastor or nonprofit leader in the Deep South that wants to attend Tactics this year but the ticket price
