The r*pe part is awful in every way. But the fact that they have kids together is perhaps the worst part for me. When I got to the part where he talks about her being a good mom - hoo boy. Their kids may have been sleeping in the next room while he did this. I want to 🤮.

If you are sitting nearby and don’t offer help, you’re a jerk. Also goes for being near a mom trying to board with kid(s) plus stuff. No matter how well prepared mom (or dad) is, an extra pair of hands from someone is almost always welcome.

I have a friend who joined a motorcycle club and the initiates (pledges, if you will) carry first aid supplies, including period supplies, at all times. I can’t imagine it happening when I was growing up but I’m glad it’s a positive now!

This happened to me as a kid and was horrifying. I remember being ordered to stand in an open area, put my arms down and “don’t touch the hem of your skirt to pull on it.” It was a male principle and it was awful. He made my mother bring me different clothes and wrote me up.

I realized last week that my office is not even close to compliant. I’m recovering from foot surgery and using a knee scooter. There’s 100% no way I could open doors or clear thresholds to get in/out. I will be reporting to our facility person first thing when I am back at work.

It exists! It’s an app for your phone, tells you the best times to go and gives a quick synopsis of what happened while you were gone. There’s a timer you start at the beginning and the app will buzz when a pee time is coming up. It’s brilliant!

Amen. Even loved ones commenting on weight can be cruel. I had to tell a family member recently that no heavy person is ever unaware of it. Having a thin family member comment can be just as cruel as a stranger and just as poorly-intentioned.

My father (who died from dementia last year) had this exact posture toward the end of his life. I never realized until recently that it’s a sign of dementia - I just assumed his back hurt and he didn’t have the vocabulary to tell us. Very concerning that 45 stands this way.
