"Which nobody can deny" works so much better with that melody, so it's probably due to the fact that british people used to be musically stunted.

There literally are chemical standards of this sort for all protected food brands in Italy. And they are the only ones enforcing them in a strict manner (hence the fight against counterfeiters)

That just points of different forms of hornyness. I feel (GENERALLY) men tend to be way more visual in this respect, so a mere picture is enough to rile them up. On the other hand women are more receptive to narratives and more developed scenarios.

Feeling very conflicted today. I must admit, I always considered him a genuine philosophical "enemy", yet the news of his death saddened me to no end. There must be some lesson to learn here, but I still haven't figured it out.

It doesn't show it because Villeneuve is clearly not going on that route, hence why the Great Houses still declare war to him. It doesn't make sense only if you assume that he is sticking rigorously to the source material.

A good habit when reading Nietzsche is to not take too seriously his remarks on other philosophers. Oddly enough this is a good habit to mantain when one is reading Kant too (especially if he is talking about Plato or Leibniz).

What kind of test would convince you that "cooperative" and "moral" are synonimous? And what kind of test could prove the categorical normativity of any action?

I actually like that syllabus, but yeah, it makes sense only if you're pursuing an education in the humanities (one centered on the history of philosophy/ideas).

When the choice is between Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Wagner, any choice is the right choice. It deranged BADLY once he picked Tchaikovsky over Mozart

Alcohol, sex and gambling are unironically infinitely more educational than playing counter strike. If you read some books on top of it you're above 99.99% of the population
@notkavi
You're just banalizing the whole issue. These protected brands have to pass through many quality tests (regarding the ingredients and the manufacturing process), which guarantee a much higher quality of the final product. Counterfeits don't have to deal with any of that.

Imperial roman paganism? Like, the Founding Fathers were divinized like the Emperors, the only difference being that their divinization was not made public

You can still achieve it, you just have to be willing to go so much in debt that you have to flee the country you're residing in, multiple times. Few people have the stomach for that

Most academics I have met, to me, looks more like lawyers than philosophers (which is a telltale sign of sophistry). It's as if they're arguing to **persuade** some sort of imaginary audience, regardless of wether what they're saying is true or not.

Athenaze has to be the best textbook available.
Another route is to read a short grammar textbook, and then read through Aesop's Fables while using extensively your dictionary (and while checking the grammar textbook often).

Latin is a game changer, given your interest in Kantian philosophy, since Kant's background was mostly built on texts that were written in either latin or french.

+study latin first (you can read fluently with a few months to one year of practice, it's really not that hard), and then jump on to Greek (reading it fluently might take a few years, unless you devote some serious amount of time to it).

He's right on the money. On a rewatch BB is painfully corny. Still entertaining and with stellar performances, but I can never shake the feeling that it's only entertainment, rather than something profoundly meaningful.

I agree with the spirit of what you're saying, but I think the analogy works only up to a certain point. A good chunk of contemporary music is tied to a hyper-fixation for theory and compositional technique that is mostly absent in the figurative arts.

I've not focused on the hedonistic aspect, rather on the educational opportunities that the context of these specific vices offer. Also meaningless competition (e.g. CS) is essentially useless.

I spoke about it in another thread. I have always deemed him a philosophical enemy, and I must admit, to some extent I really hated his philosophy and his attitude. Yet his death hit me like a truck. All that livor feels now meaningless and silly.
