THREAD: On June 10, 2022 Christian Glass called 911 after his car got stuck on a road in Silver Plume.
70 minutes after Clear Creek County deputies arrived... he was dead.
Newly obtained body camera video is raising some serious questions about how police handled this call.

Because the driver had their right turn signal on & was going to TURN ON RED.

This one isn't too far from my home. Our DOTI added these plastic posts, but won't add a stop sign or crosswalk markings.

I can't speak to others, but the biggest realization for me was once I started wearing my normal clothes to bike & had my bike in an accessible location ready to go.
IMO, people still see biking as recreation and do a full clothes change prior to biking. Just go!

Look at it from the perspective of someone riding through that intersection.
The goal is to reduce thru-traffic on E7thAve to the West of Williams as well as slow cars making turns to help protect pedestrians.

Had two cars in the family.
1st, I ditched the SUV for a Volt. Had to keep a car b/c the commute was too far to consistently bike &/or take transit.
2nd, I changed jobs to be able to easily bike/bus & sold the volt.
For me, it was learning about Climate so I made a change.

How can I explain this concept to people in Denver?
I will ride down Colfax, but that isn't the point. EVERYONE should be able to bike in your community.
If you don’t see parents letting their young kids (under 13) ride their own bikes in your area, your bike infrastructure isn’t good enough.
Sidewalk level bikeways are my favorite, but even a basic curb can do a lot to make a street safer for people biking & rolling.

This was my first time & last time biking the MLK bike lane.
If it were up to me, this design wouldn't qualify as bike infrastructure.
- Door zone
- Speed limit of passing traffic is too high at 35mph
If you get doored, those large vehicles won't be able to stop.

IMO, chasing our unhoused neighbors from place to place isn't the solution. It is the reason why the terminal tunnel looks the way that it does. It wasn't that way a couple years ago.
