For over a 100 years the drug had become deeply ingrained in Chinese society. While warlords freely grew the crop to fund their weapons purchases.

I don’t see how peace talks will actually yield results if the EU/US pile-in isn’t on the table. If the West will keep up with punitive measures regardless, or a neutral Ukraine is off the table, then I just don’t see it resolving — and it can only get worse.
