Probably pretty low as that is a main mechanic of the set, and all of them work like that but guess not 0. Seems they intended these cards with the survival mechanic to have these work arounds to not attack, even though it’s a flavor fail

Since I’m sure people will ask, only change is make for the prowess deck is third monstrous rage over third scale up. Really need the trample to punch through blockers.

Here is what I would suggest for updated list of prowess for the would be RCQ players in the coming weeks. I didn't expect they would put off the ban update for nadu this long, but now that we are here figured I post what I would be doing.

NEO is stronger, both in standard and eternal formats. Sagas, invoke cycle and bankbuster are the driving forces to why standard is a giant midrange fest. Legendary channel lands are busted in older formats, Not to mention wanderer and fable.

As for the prowess deck, I specifically chose it as the way to fight combo summer. Nadu and storm decks are tough to fight and have a lot of resiliency, but they had next to no interaction so I just went faster. In a more normal format, you wouldn’t want to be doing this stuff.

I admit this deck is better than I expected it to be. Small sample size, but there is potential. Back in mythic is time for the new set tomorrow, so I can spend 3 weeks draft prepping for the open.

My goals for this weekend were simple: get draft trophies and qualify for worlds. I only got one draft trophy, and still a bit upset with myself for not doing better in the second draft, but overall a pretty successful weekend. This year will be my first worlds!

Magic is a really bad game for competition and tournaments. Tournament play is just coasting off of nostalgia from when it was the best game for that. We would be better off if it all went away and the game was nothing but casual play and collectors.

Personal life update: I donated a kidney today and seems all went well. I will be in the hospital for a bit and have a few weeks of recovery ahead of me, but outside of the pain I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. Should be 100% in time for worlds late October

Not making emergency ban updates hurts consumer confidence more than sticking to the schedule. This decision makes me feel the people making the call are completely unaware of what it's like now, with nobody wanting to build anything in a format they know is on borrowed time.

I lost a game with a deck I was testing on a ral coin flip the other day. It's hilarious how we have infinite rules on not using random effects outside the game to decide matches, so they decided to put literal coin flips to decide winners on cards instead.

I think the grief decks were all kinda bad into nadu, and I like the ban as a hedge against grief potentially becoming the top deck/play pattern again in post nadu land. Going back to grief scam tier 1 land is not a good look after the misery of nadu summer

I found the explanation article from Majors strange. They basically changed Nadu from a reasonable card they had tested to what it was shipped untested and with few checks because of commander concerns. Why design commander cards in main sets when every set has a commander set?

This analysis is pretty disingenuous representation of the format and scam's place in it. Scam is such a large part of the format, it warps all the other meta decks around it cuz if you don't have a decent chance of beating scam you can't win.

Now that deck list submission is over, I’m very sad to be seeing the amounts of bird related tweets for PT players. Absolutely messed up the template of the card design and it’s gonna be a miserable event. Not looking forward to this

Would definitely suggest going to Joe’s and getting the Z man. It’s a KC classic. Also if you’re in to ramen, there’s a place on the south side of town called KC Craft ramen that’s really good. If you’re liking for a classy meal I suggest the Antler Room.

Everyone wants to point fingers at who to blame for the judge stuff, but nobody is talking about the real problem: the rules around splits etc at the end of events in needlessly convoluted/confusing. I played all 3 PTs this year and still can’t tell you what is and isn’t allowed.

The problem is not and has never been the commander players. The problem is WOTC desires to make cards specifically for commander. The coolest aspect of commander was finding obscure combinations to play and how to max the power level of cards. No commander designs needed for it.

After thinking it over, the one legit reason to not emergency ban nadu and others is likely because they want to make other ban list updates in august, and you don’t want people thinking it’s safe to buy into a deck right before a ban cuz it didn’t get hit in the emergency ban

It seems pretty silly they won’t give people qualified for the PT early access on arena, especially when the last event didn’t have nearly enough people in it to function with all the streamers sitting in queues forever and getting paired into the same person 3 times in a row.
