It's just demographics. I'm a truck driver, and most drivers are white dudes 25-70 from the country. It's just a really conservative demographic.

Do you know anything about climate policy. The federal government has done more in the last 3 years on climate than the last 100 combined. The policy has been aggressive and is succeeding. It’s important to acknowledge victories when they happen.

Youre too young to know this but in the 2008-2015 period a lot of people got really worked up abt the national debt and used that as an excuse to not stimulate the economy via new spending and tax cuts. The result was a stagnant economy and lots of suffering.

I tend to agree with David Shor’s thesis that the internet made the country more conservative because it allowed voters to learn that democrats are liberal. Though I add to that thesis in a less diplomatic way (rw soc. media content overwhelmed country folks and radicalized them)

Also poll after poll shows that about half of all Democrats and over half of black Americans want a new nominee. I'll 100% support Biden in November if it comes to it, but he is clearly on track to lose.

I lived on that $ at one point in my life. It wasn’t too bad.’you just have to be very thrifty. But I also got free government health insurance and that helped a ton.
I think most people would struggle on that kind of income, esp if they don’t have health coverage.

Talk radio had been the biggest historically, but right wing Youtube personalities are big, right wing Facebook personalities too. And Fox News definitely plays a role, though it’s usually overrated when talking about blue collar politics, which come from radio more than TV.
