The priest who sexually molested my brother has not been defrocked nor has he faced canonical punishment. Gilbert Guathe, the most notorious sexual abuser cleric in North America has not been defrocked or excommunicated (he left the Church).

I cannot stress how common this is in the stories we hear of fellow Survivors of Clergy Sexual Abuse. It’s a sickness and one that makes Sexual Abuse in the Roman Catholic Church so unique.
Apparently, my sexual and spiritual abuser, known and respected friar and priest, who was removed from the Franciscan OFM order but waits for official paper from Vatican, sends letters out that he is innocent and is suffering like Jesus and with Jesus.

The Catholic Hierarchy twists “forgiveness”, and strikes at the honest earnest hearts of Good Catholics and their families by advocating for forgiveness free from justice.
Time and time again survivors have told us their
