Anyone who objects to any of my priest abuse/victim advocacy reporting is free to email me (with your real name).
If you're a priest or a supporter of a priest I've written about and you want to dispute facts with me, we can set up a phone call or Zoom to address your concerns.
Catholic reality show idea: Producers tell male apologists that they will be debating Fr. James Martin about true masculinity but are instead taken to a construction site to do one full day of manual labor.
Frank Pavone left the active priesthood years ago. He hasn’t had a ministry assignment in over a decade. Priests For Life is a secular organization. He’s been officially AWOL from the Catholic hierarchy for years. The Holy See finally ousting him officially is just a formality.
I made the mistake of engaging in the "What about Fr. James Martin"? discourse.
When FJM decides to leave the Jesuits without permission to work in a secular political action group while damning Republicans to hell and still portraying himself as a faithful priest, we can talk.
The priest in my archdiocese who usually gets the calls for exorcism and "deliverance" stuff is a completely normal, humble man who watches basketball in his spare time, would never publicly call himself an "exorcist" and would just rather talk about Jesus than Satan. He's rare.
I want to work at Planned Parenthood and get mad and quit so I can automatically become an expert on Catholicism and every political or moral issue while getting paid.
You can be a daily Mass attending faithful Catholic who backs up everything you say with clear church teaching, and the self-appointed orthodoxy police Catholics will state hate you if offend any of their culture war sensibilities. You'll never be holy enough for them.
SOME GOOD NEWS:
Frank Pavone won't have to say goodbye to his parishioners because he doesn't have a parish.
He won't have to leave his ministry assignment because he's refused assignments for 10+ years.
He won't have to apologize to his bishop because he doesn't have one.
Catholics really need to brace themselves for the next crop of young priests who were formed by internet trad LARP culture, red pill, and pretending that they don’t watch porn.
It’s going to be a disaster unless their formation teams can spot the warning signs.
@lynna_listens
Please tell them that TV and movies are lying to them by making it seem like the most confident thing a man can do is approach a woman at a bar because
1) No, it's not.
2) Most of them don't want you to.
For my fellow leftyCath friends who may be worried that it's homophobic to call out this priest...
Let me remind you that any priest, of any orientation, who brazen flaunts his violations of celibacy is not a safe priest and should not be in ministry.
Milwaukee priest Fr. Mark Payne hired his long-term, live-in, male lover to work at his parish school as a teacher.
@PillarCatholic
reports that
@archmil
says they have “spoken with" Payne.
Payne remains in ministry and is part of
@archmil
Tribunal.
Just ONCE, I would like to hear a Catholic priest tell parents, "If you don't feel safe bringing your children to church because of the abuse scandals, I'll support you in doing what you think is best to protect your children."
That's what an institution with integrity would do.
Here's Catholic priest Donald Calloway job-shaming flight attendants, hair dressers, and coffee shop workers. How is this type of behavior appropriate for a consecrated religious?
"Father Pavone put the fetus he keeps pickled in a jar on a table meant to look like an altar, not an actual altar" is a weird defense. Stop and listen yourselves, people.
This is misleading. The priest was removed from ministry by the local bishop (which is his job.) He will never be in ministry again.
The formal laicization process (colloquially referred to as “defrocking”) just hasn’t happened YET. The Vatican is not “protecting” this priest.
Ohio priest who sex-trafficked boys he met in preschool given life sentence but Vatican hasn’t decided to defrock 6 months after diocese requested he be de-frocked.
**Twitter account reboot**
I've finally removed "Catholic" from my username and have deleted all my old tweets. I refuse to do any more emotional labor for a Catholic Church that I have zero loyalty to and have no plans to return to.
This is part of my religious trauma healing.
Y’all can make fun of me for being an atheist who talks about Catholicism but lots of you are just LARPing trad Catholicism and you don’t actually care about the Gospel.
This is sick! Leslie Jordan was an openly practicing, unrepentant homosexual, and James Martin waved goodbye to him as if there will be no eternal consequence for this!
I've already seen "at least it was an woman" responses about Fr. Alex Crow.
Let's be clear: Crow allegedly abused his authority as a priest to groom a Catholic high school girl and then took her out of the country as soon as it was barely legal to so do. That's the story.
UPDATE: I've received word from
@oakdiocese
that the planned June 9 public "birthday" Mass intention for ousted priest Fr. Jeff Finley at St. Edward's in Newark is canceled (and will never occur again) by orders of Bp. Barber.
Thanks to all who supported my fight to stop this.
I’m here with Sister Mary Juan at the Casa Santa Maria, which is not only a residence for priests but also the visitor’s office for Americans visiting Rome!
@thegnewsroom
This fucking incel Catholic actually has no experience in a relationship with a real life woman, so he has to rely on "based" advice he reads on the internet and pretends he's an expert. What absolute clown behavior.
The fact that the USCCB does not have a clear zero tolerance/automatic dismissal policy against priests engaging in sexual activity with adult parishioners is insane.
One reason I fought so hard to pressure the Diocese of Reno to oust
#FatherPatrickKlekas
was to set a precedent.
I legit think that priests should only be allowed to preach outside of their diocese of origin (in person or online) only if they get special permission and have a really good reason.
Letting Catholic priests become celebrities was a bad idea.
Serious question: Have any of you ever heard of a church giving a CONSENT talk to teens?
In four decades of being Catholic, I never once heard a church-endorsed speaker address consent.
I've decided to no longer link Catholic abuse reporting stories from Church Militant or Church Militant reporters, no matter how credible they may be.
I can't, in good conscience, link to an outlet that is openly hostile to LGBT folks and expect people to ignore CM's homophobia.
I think I were still an active Catholic who supposedly loved Jesus and I encountered someone who reported leaving and/or being traumatized by the church, my first instinct wouldn't be to ridicule and insult them.
How do these anon trad creeps think they're helping the church?
The Catholic Diocese of Reno, NV is endangering St. Gall Parish in Gardnerville by placing admitted sex pest priest Fr. Patrick Klekas in the parish. I'm in contact with one of his victims. Klekas's acts were not "consensual." The victim's life has been devastated. This is evil.
I'm convinced that the Catholic priesthood is a great place for many mediocre men to enjoy having important jobs.
There are very good, very smart priests. But there are also too many freeloading clowns who fail forward toward prominent positions they'd never get in secular life.
Strickland could absolutely tell his supporters to please stay home and pray with their families instead. But he loves the attention.
I'm afraid this guy will end up doing more damage out of office than in.
Imagine your parish priest up and leaves to another state to start a homeless shelter (which is noble work). He doesn't get permission from his bishop and ignores any requests to return home. Yet he still presents himself publicly as a priest. That's what Pavone did with PFL.
Literally a Catholic priest yelled at me on the phone today for asking him to remove an abuser priest's name from the parish bulletin. So many priests are entitled divas who can't handle anything but constant praise.
The border does not need money. What is needed is comprehensive immigration reform. Dreamers cry out for the only country they know. Cruelty and psychological pressure has affected them. We are responsible. Yes, we are! Let us use reason for the sake of them and our country.
Seen on the interwebs: A conservative Catholic radio station selling T-shirts expressing support for the embattled firebrand bishop of Tyler, Texas, who is the subject of a pending Vatican investigation.
If you hear a story about a priest being sexually inappropriate with an adult, please DON'T respond with "At least it was an adult" or "Let priests get married."
Neither of these responses are helpful to adults who have experienced priest sexual misconduct.
I'm begging Catholic priest abuse victim advocates to learn about the removal processes of abusive priests before spouting off on Twitter about how I'm protecting "the Vatican."
We need informed advocates who engage with the church, not just people throwing rocks from outside.
@Peter_giroux_
@SpiritUnbounded
The priest is permanently banned from ministry and is going to prison for the rest of his life. He will never be an active priest again. These decisions are made on the local level. Vatican laicization is just an on-paper formality. Why do you think there's some dark motive?
If the
@archbalt
or any other Catholic diocese needs to sell every inch of property they own and run their diocese via Zoom in order to financially compensate sex abuse victims, so be it.
When I was in my toxic 20s and had no idea how to maturely interact with women, I'm glad some Catholic radio station didn't stick a microphone in my face and tell me to do a show.
UPDATE:
#FatherPatrickKlekas
kicked out of Reno Diocese!
Bishop Mueggenborg announced on Aug. 22 that Klekas "will not be returning to ministry in the Diocese of Reno."
The truth about Fr. Patrick Klekas: An interview with one of his female victims
Note: This podcast was released on June 16, 2023 before the Diocese of Reno announced their "pause" in Klekas' reinstatement.
San Antonio Archdiocese's
@ABishopGustavo
has barred Catholic entities from all activity at Pike Creek TX's "Sanctus Ranch" retreat center due to concerns about suspended priests operating illicitly and lack of abuse prevention training/accountability from staff.
Thank you, Abp.
I learned
@FrJimRolph
barred altar girls from his parish due to the "the crisis of masculinity."
This is the same priest who lied to his parish about his suspension, is scared to talk to me, and won't apologize to those he's spiritually abused.
Crisis of masculinity, indeed.
When I was an abusive man in my 20s, I had friends and family that told me I was being a weirdo. I didn't have online communities of other toxic men telling me that I'm "based" and that I'm helping to "uphold tradition."
The Archdiocese of San Antonio received the report, removed Ortega, referred to law enforcement, informed the Vatican, investigated and permanently ousted the priest in less than 8 weeks.
Compare that to Diocese of Reno's months of hemming and hawing over
#FatherPatrickKlekas
.
The Catholic Archdiocese of San Antonio announced the expulsion of Fr. Alejandro Ortega of St. Monica Catholic Church in Converse due to "substantiated allegations of inappropriate physical contact with a minor." They also uncovered reports of unwanted touch toward adult women.
Telling priest abuse victims or those experiencing religious trauma that they should have known that lots of clergy are creeps, God isn't real, religion is dumb, etc. does NOT help them. Victim advocacy is about helping the person heal and get justice, not theological debates.
Catholic grifter
@jasonevert
literally owns and is scheduled to speak at an event to publicly support a man who was recently found liable for sexual assault.
Central Texas priest doubles down on his insistence that his community are receiving private revelations from Jesus and Mary
"Bergoglio is exercising illegitimate authority."
If Pope Francis ever approves female deacons, I will never darken the door of a parish that I know has one, and I’ll walk out of any mass where I see one serving. 💚 if you agree and share this.
It's so weird when a priest abuse/arrest story hits the news and the parish social media just continues on like nothing happened. Your pastor is literally in jail and the parish posts about the rummage sale this weekend or something.
So it appears Fr. Crow believed he was getting locutions from Jesus and Mary, and was told by Jesus to leave the country with his 18-yr-old wife to live in Italy. This story is getting weirder by the minute.
Apparently Fr. Crow was doing exorcisms (without permission) & studying
My biggest concern about the rogue "Sanctus Ranch" in the Archdiocese of San Antonio is not that they allow "cancelled" trad priests to preside, but their refusal to submit to archdiocese abuse prevention oversight.
That angers and scares me as a clergy abuse victim advocate.
@FatherAltman
Either reconcile with your bishop and recover your priesthood or go get a secular job.
There’s no such thing as a freelance Roman Catholic priest. You’re not helping yourself or anyone else.
@cnalive
Pavone hasn’t had an a ministry assignment or bishop accountability for years. He’s basically been living as a layperson who presents himself as a priest in public.
To anyone who has left the church and/or been hurt by the church: Speak out as much as you want. Don’t let church loyalists try to shame you into staying silent.
@SkepticallyDan
Probably because your sole purpose on this site is trying to take other Catholics down with you because you had a crisis of faith and ducked out. Miserable way to live boss.
My long-distance advocacy for victims of priest abuse and for the removal of deviant priests wouldn't be necessary if local Catholics would just decide to give a shit.
It should be YOU, not some cranky guy in Texas on the internet, fighting to get abusers of your YOUR parish.
No Catholic ministry I've ever worked for would have allowed me to use donor money to fly to Los Angeles to protest a baseball game (and I would never ask.)
Every Catholic grifter fleecing donors for vacations to "cover" events like this is a crook.
Join us Friday, June 16th at our Dodger Stadium Procession

Reparations are required for the sacrileges being committed by the honoring of the supposed Sister of Perpetual Indulgence. We hope you join us in prayer if you cannot attend in person. for more
I won't post the photo (because I don't have permission), but someone sent me a picture of a priest posing in front of the Vatican while his home diocese investigates him for sexual misconduct. The absolute entitlement of these man-boy clerics just kills me.
Catholic incel who believes women should stay in abusive marriages and publicly fantasizes about participating in civil war offers a mental health observation.
@USCCB
Imagine being lectured about the dignity of the human body by the largest group of child sexual abuse enablers in the history of the United States.
Once again:
1) The heads of the public school system do not claim to be successors of the Twelve Apostles serving a organization founded by the Son of God.
2) “Other people rape children too” isn’t the slam dunk defense of Catholicism that you think it is.
Periodic reminder that Frank Pavone is not authorized to publicly act as a Catholic priest in any diocese in the world.
He is a priest in the absolute minimal sense that he has simply not been laicized.
When I posted my first tweet about this story one morning in May while still waking up with my coffee, I had no idea that I’d become part of the story.
It was a difficult summer in many ways. There were many times that I lost hope. But we did it. We got Klekas out.
Reno, NV Catholic diocese reinstates adulterer priest
@FrPatrickKlekas
complained in 2019 about too many gays in seminary. In Dec. 2022, Klekas was ousted for having an affair with a married woman.
After "counseling and discernment"
@DOREvang
will reinstate Klekas on July 1.
Nobody's "criminalizing Catholic beliefs" you brazen liars.
And maybe if you were a real journalistic instead of a culture war propagandist, you'd ask Pivonka about his university's horrific sexual abuse and cover up problem.
How do you sleep at night,
@TracySabolDC
?
A leaked memo from the FBI field office in Richmond, Virginia warned that radical traditional Catholics could be a threat to national security. This memo even suggested infiltrating the Latin Mass. President of
@FranciscanU

Behold the based, virile, alpha male ready to save Western civilization through FACTS AND LOGIC and pure masculinity, who will take on anyone as long as you don't hurt his fee fees on Twitter.
