Say I get in an argument w/ my wife, lose my temper, swear at her in front of the kids. Then blatantly ignore what happened & call a family meeting, passionately calling my wife/children to search their hearts for any sin they need to repent of. That would be abusive.

You can't preach your way, lawyer your way, pay your way, militarize your way, or even fast & pray your way out of God's judgment of sin. You can only humble yourself and fully repent your way into the mercy of God, freely available in Christ. This is the only true gospel.

I concur with this as one on the inside. Both Fri night staff service & this AM were devastating display of hypocrisy--bold calls to do what leaders refuse. I've pleaded from within for 3 mo, reached out directly to you late Fri night with one last deep sincere appeal. Grieving.

We've been here on staff for 3 years but followed, supported, did prayer movement for 15 years before. I submitted my resignation on Dec 16 but staying on until Jan 31st to help transition. Every week that has passed has confirmed that it's the right decision, before God.

Of course God is still sovereign and good and will take care of His own. That doesn't mean we don't call out the wrong-- lying about the reason that most staff have left is wrong. I own my decision to leave and will also speak up for the sake of the integrity of the Church.

We're sorry for refusing to even say that Mike's sin & refusal to repent has absolutely devastated this community. We're sorry for stonewalling every attempt at a legitimate third party investigation. We're sorry for silencing and dismissing so many voices of God's faithful ones.

**Just to be clear** The concerns that friends raised to me were theological, the overemphasis on MB, questionable prophecies, etc. I never imagined that these issues were symptoms of covering scandalous sin and abuse of power. I mourn over this. My discernment needs to grow.

(3) and gut-wrenching but somehow rung true and came across as genuine and simply too detailed and unique to make up. And of course the trusted leaders who were advocating for her added weight and credibility. The prophetic manipulation was a new dimension and was so disturbing.

I can't speak for everyone, but all the staff and leaders that I know who have resigned have gone through a deep wrestle to make this decision-- we're 90 days in of blood sweat and tears over this. Most of them are 10+ year faithful servants of Christ in the House of Prayer.

It was a call for all of us to search our hearts and repent (which is the Christian lifestyle), yes. That's not the season we're in, nor what caused this crisis. The hidden sin of our spiritual father and their refusal to acknowledge it is the problem. It was not a first step.

The type of apology that I suggested here, which is also a confession that they've done any wrong, would be an actual first step. The general call to repentance for the congregation done yesterday was further abdication of responsibility.
