The math doesn’t add up though if Leni can’t convince the majority of voters who like BBM. Statistically, consolidation will just give BBM more voters as a certain % of Ping/Isko/Pacman voters have him as 2nd choice🤷🏻♂️…their voters won’t go 100% to Leni for sure. More work needed

In almost all professions that OFW’s are employed, they are better treated & compensated abroad. That’s why you often see the best of Filipinos AND the best in Filipinos abroad. Why can’t this happen in PH? It’s how Pinoys are treated in PH. More than low pay,where is the Love?

All in all, a good read. Generational failure of successive democratically elected leaders was the main reason.
Disinformation, w/c both camps did, is a key issue. But it’s a weak sauce to explain the landslide victory BBM. It assumes majority of Filipinos are dumb.

Please tell Gen. Galvez to focus more on the urgent need of cold chain distribution. Pfizer vaccine needs at least -70 Celsius refrigeration. That’s the biggest challenge for PH. Even multinationals distributing frozen food for decades in PH haven’t managed to get close to -70.

Peso is strong because the economy is in a deep recession. As a heavy importer for most goods, this means lesser demand for dollars for import requirements on oil, raw materials, etc. It also helped that overseas remittances from Filipino expats have barely dropped this year.

I went to college in the early 90’s. And the roundtrip ticket from Cebu to Manila was P5k. Fast forward 30 years later, it’s still P5K despite all the inflation, wage increases and peso devaluation.

Meanwhile, remittances from OFW’s had another record drop of almost 20%. There were many laid off due to the pandemic. But there were also a lot of our nurses hired abroad due to the pandemic. They could have helped PH a lot economically. Double whammy with nurse deployment ban.

Health insurance that covers all illness up to P50M. The younger you get it, the cheaper. Local HMO won’t be enough if you get hit with cancer and other serious illness. And it will drain everything listed above
