The two demographic groups are effectively inseparable in Indonesia, ie. almost all members of an ethnic group belong to one particular religion. Non-Muslims overwhelmingly vote for Jokowi, but ofc you have to keep in mind that 87% of Indonesians are Muslims

My final round maps of 2022 US House & Senate elections in Alaska are now done. Peltola slightly ran ahead of Murkowski; while Peltola is helped by her already-strong first-rank votes and exhausted votes from Begich, Murkowski's boosted by strong preference flows from a Democrat

While overlooked, the ethnic Chinese diaspora, who are mostly Christian, Buddhist, or Confucian, also breaks for the PDIP. This is evident in the capital itself, with North Jakarta voting for Jokowi and his former deputy Basuki (a Chinese himself) in the governor election

Back to the US, was surprised to see the Wikipedia article on the mayoral election in Denver having no maps, so here it is I guess.Both seen as moderates, Mike Johnston and Kelly Brough's base came from similar groups of White liberals, although Brough's is more concentrated. 🧵

The 2024 presidential election maps in each province is done! (ft. neat little graph of vote share by district sorted ascending by Anies or Ganjar's vote share, whoever does better in the province).Also replaced the inset in the nationwide map bcs detail's in the province map 🧵
Turns out the most educated district in my city (and fifth nationally by the median metric) -- Antapani -- is also the only one to be won by Anies in the entire metro area huh. Anyway a collection of these maps by province will follow.

Here's a map you didn't expect: Results of the 2ⁿᵈ round for the legislative election in French Polynesia last April. Pro-independence Tāvini won a surprise victory with 44% of the vote, unseating incumbent Tāpura and fending off a challenge from the splinter right-wing A here.

@twotwofourtysix HD 10 and 23 are mislabeled on this map. Seems like this map used the old numbering system that was struck down by the state Supreme Court.

Made the interactive version of the Semarang (capital of Central Java) mayoral election map @kaytheawkward made. KIM+'s win here seems to mostly be restricted to upper-middle-class housing complexes in more rural parts of the city
