The best incubator for coronavirus in Lebanon is the airport arrival section! Mixing and matching all the different worldwide strains👍
What is the use of the arrival PCR if the passenger will directly be in contact with such a crowd!?

The following thread includes something I have been enjoying doing for the past week: trying to predict the course of the COVID-19 outbreak in Lebanon📈📉.

Thank you Dr. Nahmias! I'm definitely considering UC Irvine with its strong research and innovation focus! Hope to get the chance to connect further during the interview season!
This could all be just speculations, but it proves that a lockdown can be successful in limiting the outbreak, much like what is happening in China. And still, it is loads of fun to play with the numbers!😅😅

@samer_tohme
Definitely, the mentorship and support of Dr. Tohme have been fundamental allowing me to reach this stage! I am forever grateful!
Considering the same model, and including the cases from March 21 through March 30 into the growth rate curve, rough predictions can be made for the upcoming 2 weeks: 65 new cases to appear until mitigation on April 12.
The generally low testing for COVID-19 in Lebanon could affect these results but still it has significantly increased for the past 2 weeks, whereas the cases growth rate kept decreasing.
@NatureNews
Hey Dr.
@firassabiad
! What are your thoughts on the implementation of such techniques in Lebanon to increase the testing coverage? Especially that % of positive tests is still low...
The analysis is based on the assumption that the % growth rate of cases has been following an exponential decrease since March 21 (1 week after the complete lockdown declared on 14 March).
Be careful everyone! One new insidious explosion of the virus is threatening our community, however Covid-19 spread cannot be seen and shared on social media like the Ammonium nitrate explosion...
