Completely understand why that med student felt compelled to sit their exam whilst in ITU. Med schools are unforgiving when it comes to exams. I know someone who was forced to resit the whole year after not being able to attend their osces when self isolating during covid.

Yesterday it was my first time, 5th year medical student, to do my first full operation for a patient with bilateral legs fracture (tibia) blindly without in-operation-xRay, due the lack of equipment, under supervision of one of the greatest doctors.

You really had to travel all the way to South Wales for a crumb of acceptance when your constituency is in London. You can do tour de mosque as much as you’d like but we will never forget how you said the collective punishment and genocide of 2 million Palestinians is justified.
I was grateful to hear from the Muslim community of the South Wales Islamic Centre.
I repeated our calls for all hostages to be released, more humanitarian aid to enter Gaza, for the water and power to be switched back on, and a renewed focus on the two state solution.

On my current placement, the reg assigns me patients during ward rounds that I review and present, request investigations, chase them and make up management plans. I have never felt as part of the team as I do now and it’s my final placement of medical school.

A friend of mine and a couple of other med students have started ‘The Newborn Knitting project’ in collab with the NICU and labour ward at St Mary’s in Manchester.
They’ll be knitting and crocheting any woollen items in demand for the lil newborns :)
