@_eliffo Starting on nights would mean youβre potentially likely to do the most amount of nights surely?

@SiawA In all fairness, I believe I saw some data that suggested 52% of current GP trainees are IMGs. Not making any assumptions etc but just wanted to quote some data I saw recently

@DrAndrewGreen @TheBMA I have. It took you six paragraphs to mention Israel specifically being the cause. This isnβt a natural disaster. Talking about Israelβs involvement is absolutely essential and should be called out immediately, not halfway through the page.

@DoctorNikss Agreed. Job security is a new concern but once youβre in, youβre very safe. Great sick pay policy and pension helps

How can you witness the destruction in this video and still believe that Israel is truly trying to minimise civilian deaths, let alone avoid them?

@SiawA Yep. Understand prioritising local grads or prev NHS experience but peopleβs true colours are really showing.

Rigged in their favour lmao this is laughable. The narrative has changed so quickly
Itβs not IMGs fault that the UK system is so rigged in their favour that many UK doctors are unemployable in their own country. But to call people racist for complaining about it, as very senior BMA reps are doing? Is that the kind of representation youβre paying for?

@MHA_92_ Agreed. Ideally 6 months of 5th year is shadowing with some level of national competency. One year of FY1 then straight into core training ideally. I would say having 6 rotations has been helpful tho ngl

@MHA_92_ Tbf the first year as an FY1 is to gain full reg. IMGs come with full reg as they usually do an intern year abroad after med school

Children and minors taken by Israel - 320+ Hostages taken on 7th October - 251 Which one has received more media attention?
There are more than 10,000 Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons & other facilities. Some 3,300 of these Palestinians are held in an Orwellian "administrative detention." There are at least 320 Palestinian children/minors held by Israel.

@omerdays Agreed more training posts isn't the ONLY solution but its part of it. Look at rads - only 5% increase in IMGs. Still stupidly competitive. Priority to local grads or prev NHS experience for training is good but only part of the issue with med today

@omerdays Lanes analogy doesnβt quite work imo. U.K. gov have shortage of docs, whereas thereβs no shortage of cars in that regard. More people can and should apply as we have a shortage of docs. Training should be priority for NHS experience but should not be main focus
