I wish "older" people would be more brave.. they have so much to offer and the life skills to make it happen!
I met a 45 year old training bots how to trade financial intelligence. What struck me about this is being able to dream new dreams regardless of age. He studied organisation HR and works in the pension space. An interesting transition.

@Timmy200012 You're right Doctors are less useful than admin staff.. The point still remains.. a medical student from 12 years ago is offered the same amount of Money.. in London than qualified Doctors today. Inflation adjusted that's £34.50

@abundance202 @mochapinee Guys this was 12 years ago.. is that not alarming to you?? please stop trying to justify it. The pay offered is abysmal. End of story.

When I was an FY1, I rotated away and still learnt how to insert CVC.. rotation isn't to blame.. its just a convenient excuse.
@agemjourney Is a real major difference - there's huge incentive for depts to train interns because the skill benefits the dept. Because the UK FY rotates away, it's immensely more sensible for the dept to instead train a permanent AHP member of staff or a 'central line practitioner'.

@abundance202 It was adhoc to cover staff illness/emergencies etc. I was very selective and strategic with where I worked..

@crc8 I've used them before 😅 .. its not quite the same though.Since its a business the plumber doesn't go home with that.. its like a locum agencies fee instead of the Locums fee..
