I contacted my clinical fellowship job to confirm my salary and they said nodal point 2 (F2 pay, Iโll be an F3). I self-advocated and said I think I should be paid in line with nodal point 3 / CT1 and they emailed back today saying theyโll pay me at nodal point 3!!!!

I always heard the argument against them seeing undifferentiated patients, but until I got a taste of it myself I naively had NO idea just how difficult it can be. I have a renewed shock that some PAs proudly tout how confident they feel on day 1 of this job (or GP).

Brand new FY1. Pt deemed MFFD on ortho ward round. I did the paperwork and ticked them off on the system as MFFD. Pt had a fall on the ward on the way out. No one informed me. The patient left. I was datixed for an โunsafe dischargeโ bc no falls review before he left.

I have no doubt that EPIC would pay for itself quickly. Less time wasted chasing external results/letters, shorter hospital stays, happier staff, more retention. Improved patient safety by having ALL the info in front of you. Even things like less-
Everyone complains (justifiably) about NHS IT systems, and how we use a different system for each trust and none of them talk to each other.
Any SHO could tell you the pain of trying to get clinic letters from another trust.
Why doesnโt every trust just use EPIC and link up?

Absolute bullshit. We work as fast as we can while maintaining safety. We donโt show favouritism to patients because of their political views and saying something like this publicly can genuinely lead to repercussions for that doctor. I HIGHLY doubt this happened.
