Great to know that I couldn't get a job in radiology with a BSc, MBCHB with honours and MSRA score of 573! Wish someone had told me that all I had to do was become a PA. 🤬.

@DHSCgovuk Here is my payslip showing £14.09 per hour. Even if we take pay on top of basic into account, it still comes out at £14.31 per hour (2747.96÷4÷48). I studied at university for 7 years, have >£70,000 student debt and work to save lives 48 hours a week. I deserve more.

So I've just started my first F1 job, T&O, and my orthogeris patients are hysterical. One (99), when asked why she had carers visit twice a week, said "I don't know, to check if I'm dead yet I suppose." 😂 Share funny things that old people say below.

Today I had F2 teaching on career planning. It started with us being asked what we planned to do after F2. Of my entire cohort (~40 doctors), less than 5 people plan to apply for further training starting in August 2024.

Does anyone else find it *really interesting* that trusts had plenty of money available to offer BMA locum rates (Oh sorry, we're calling it industrial action rates now. ) on strike days but can't afford the same rates now when we have unfilled shifts? 🤔.

Most consultants are supportive of junior doctors taking industrial action because research has shown no increased mortality due to strikes and change is essential to prevent further exodus of doctors from the NHS. and then there's GP partner Jane. Don't be like Jane.

I am not supervised when I am called to the ward to review critically ill patients. I am a qualified professional. I deserve more than £14 per hour.

@DHSCgovuk @FullFact Full pay restoration would take my pay from ~£14 per hour to ~£19 per hour. For someone who prescribes medications, assesses unwell patients, liaises with families, verifies deaths, £19 an hour would still be a bargain.

@DrEilidhMaria On my current ward, the word "Doctors" was removed from the sign on the office door and it has been replaced with "ANPs" written in marker pen. Not very #bekind or #oneteam. It makes us doctors feel unwelcome. Why not Clinicians Room?.

Same goes for @wuthnhs. At least two F1s have received NO PAYMENT. How do you expect them to pay for transport to come to work if you haven't paid them for a month? Switchover happens every year. Why is there no good system in place to ensure people are paid?.

@Eltonchris @Doctors_Vote As a BMA rep, entirely aware that anaesthetists are involved in c-sections, as well as neonatologists sometimes too! The graphic is to prove a point about how we are undervalued for carrying out essential tasks, not educate about all the members in a c-section team 😖.
