My honest theory is that the mlb knew everybody was doing it, but most teams didn’t have the sustained success houston has been enjoying, so it would have been a slap to the face of all fans if NY BOS LA &HOU would have been doing the same thing and still losing. Hou got the hate

Just to add to that statement. BOS won in 18 via cheating and fell off the face of the earth since. Accumulating only an ALCS loss in 21. HOU won in 17 via cheating and has only been a postseason mainstay ever since. 6 straight ALCSs and 4 WSs in that span since
