When OPCG first started, I loathed its art of mostly anime screenshots. Bandai likely agreed because they hired so many AMAZING artists to create beautiful cards since!
Some remnants of the screenshot era still remain though, wish I could run this before it becomes irrelevant.😢

I feel like this is another card where the knee-jerk reaction is way over the top. Red doesn’t have issues finishing an opponent on 0 life and is bad at surviving if it spends all of its own don on 0 life. Unsearchable to boot, looks like a binder staple.

I gotta hype Kristian when he doesn't even use X... In 7 tourneys his worst result was 20th with 1st, 2 2nd, top8 and 2 top16 finishes, all on Moria. 🤯 Despite EU having less events than NA in the period he tops the limitless rankings for OP06 period. King shit 👑

2nd: t2 leader + 4c ramp > t3 7c/Kata > t4 10c
Many more ways to go about this, but BMP with ramp does not sound fun to face. Hope it’s inconsistent 🙏

T32 in Krefeld. Thought I wouldn’t care if I lose because I prepared very little, but had a very frustrating 1-2 exit to a g3 opp topdeck Moria with 0 hand and then losing to deck count in time because I didn’t count decks from tilt and cycled.
All faith in Kristian now 🇭🇷😤🇭🇷

So Europe has 3 Finals in the 1st wave? Looks like playing more than 1 will be possible. Also according to prize structure, 5 players from EU and NA each qualify to Worlds (t3 Dallas, 1st UK/IT/FR, t2 Utrecht/Orlando). Exciting stuff all around 🔥🔥🔥

Top players from most countries will beat avg player from any country, SG included. Top players are the ones who travel to other countries for events, so they'll be disproportionately represented in top cut. You can't be too upset about the level of avg player in your country...

Super late to r1, game loss, then r2 lose mirror to a good player having more Morias and more Rebeccas. Side event sold out, can’t go tourist because event is in middle of nowhere, guess the day decided to suck.

Enjoyment isn’t 0 or 100%. Game you enjoy 80% as much as Yugi, but rewards you 1500% (not exaggerating) is an easy choice. Also tbh every other TCG is more enjoyable than current SE/Shifter/Stun Ygo. Suffering as a Ygo-only player is a choice, expensive one at that.

21st/1024 in the noHeroes online TC today on Saka. Not the happiest with my result in the end. Complete deck betrayal and brick round 5, played myself into unexpected/odd punishes round 9, lucky win with 2k topdeck round 10. Gonna just go eat, I'm starving.

tl;dr - If happy with options for 5 and/or 7, Hina >>> Brannew because it’s more efficient don usage and you can consider keeping Brannew to fill the 2 don gap left by RHL on 10 don. Otherwise Brannew has better chances of seeing the cards you want.

FaB decided to take a break from events in Europe, Ygo was never worth grinding competitively. I tried MtG, but it felt like Ygo for babies. OP felt like the good parts of LoR mixed with Ygo of ~15 years ago, had sick prizing, it was an easy choice.

It happens to everyone to some degree. Goal of preparation and practice is IMO to build a good autopilot that minimizes mistakes even when you’re “not thinking” or just tired after lots of rounds. One Piece games can be “predicted” thanks to the don curve, use that knowledge.

I do not condone any form of online harassment, this post merely highlights the fact that, unlike Konami, Bandai actually reacts to feedback and proactively works to improve the game's standing - not everything in One Piece is perfect, but they're trying one step at a time.

IP size and collectors aside, OP prize cards are playable in top tier decks. Even in Flesh and Blood which does cash + prize cards, they’re always worth more than Ygo’s. For big spenders it’s the max rarity to play, OP is the same + big collector’s boost.

Where do you see such examples? People might be prejudiced against other TCGs, that’s often the case within Ygo and MtG crowds, but I’m sure they’ll enjoy other TCGs too when they try them. Much more back and forth, no non-games due to brick vs crazy hand, feels like old Ygo.

On the flip side, it leaves WB on 0 life with 0 don at that point. Events are all dead in hand, or the deck is changed to include more 0c and counters over Beams and GPs, making it worse against 5 life leaders to accommodate an unsearchable card.

It's a few things: Unreadable player setup issue isn't new (nor are some players with that issue) and setup instructions should be very strictly enforced; Player above should have never been allowed to continue playing if this video was provided to judges during the event.

Qualifier tournament with topX of all regionals/TCs from the season would probably be the fairest. Maybe include seeding based on top cut finishes. Pic attached is how they told me Japan does it, which is a lot more complicated than people think.

This isn’t my first TCG and this isn’t the first card ever designed like this. Hand info is valuable when you trade equally, it’s bad when it’s incomplete, you give up a card of your own and opponent gets to cycle their worst card (ability that makes Saka the best deck).

We did pick the deck because in testing we said “it can’t always open that good” too often, which tends to mean the deck is consistently good.

I'm not sure if it was playing under a different ID or playing an NA online as a non-NA resident. EU's biggest cheater at the time got a 3 month (🤣) ban after cheating/DQs in multiple events. One punishment too harsh, other too lenient. Would make sense the other way around.

Bandai’s stance on this is clear, creator of the game himself stated intent of optimal play is assumed. Roughly “ Miscommunication goes both ways, the sharking opponent should confirm explicitly that 0 leaders are targeted.” NA judges are just clowning to feel relevant. 🤡

As for the Moria play. There’s the opportunity cost of a deck slot, giving up Brannew/Tashigi search, Helmeppo/Tsuru cost reduction or Corazon’s protection. All to help your opp find answers and still not know min. 2 cards in their hand on your next turn.

Fwiw I did state in several places that I believe RnT is a TO that is very likely to ensure issues such as this don't occur in the future, but the event itself as a spectator looks like it had too many issues and increased negative perception of online events.

In 2/3 scenarios the question is whether Roger is better suited than the more flexible 5c Luffy. 3rd scenario doesn't exist for Luffy because he doesn't demand all 10 don. Ofc if you run 4 Luffy + rushers and add these on top, then it maybe makes a difference

As far as I know this isn't true. I got 9th place in an online Treasure Cup in May. 1st place got banned days after for cheating in the event, but prizing didn't pass down. 😭
