DLC Melbourne - My Journey 🏆 (1/3 🧵) My dream was always to win a major event in a TCG and show my mum the trophy. Unfortunately only half of that dream was fulfilled, but I stand proud and happy! Thank you for everything! ❤️ Roughly 8 months ago I’ve started my Lorcana Journey. Many of you followed me through the ups and downs, the wins and the losses and now the stars finally aligned! I‘m proud to say, that I‘m one of the first DLC Champions of the first season of Lorcana! This event was the most fun I‘ve ever had and I hope you saw it on my face! ❤️ „Dinh a Little Lore“ Ruby Sapphire was and still is the deck that I love the most out of EVERY TCG! It was coincidence that I started Lorcana with this deck, but I‘m so happy that it happened! Over the time I adjusted Ruby Sapphire again and again, developed different gameplans to attack the meta, trying to give myself an edge. When Set 6 was revealed I couldn‘t believe they gave us Sail the Azurite Sea. At that time Maui Half Shark was still underestimated or rather underutilized. S4ilor had a good approach with the additional songs and I tested Vitalisphere combos. Ultimately I realized that the power of Shark lies in the Lore Gain and the difficulty of removing him. That means if you fully commit the deck to Half Shark, you might have a decent strategy. At the Axiom Events in Birmingham (23th Nov 2024) I tested my new found Shark Burn deck. I ran Super Goofs, Shark and A pirate‘s Life as 4of to counter the uprising of Emerald Amethyst. It worked pretty well, but there were still weaknesses. In hindsight mixing Control RB and the fast approach didn‘t run smoothly, but I would need a while to realize that. For EU continentals I decided to run a mix of both worlds, running a faster RB but with Tamatoas as Topend. Unfortunately I misplayed against AS, which costed me win and in. But I also realized that the build was missing something. When the Ruby decks used Be Prepared I had not much to recover. The french players decided to run McDuck Manor and Reece was also on it (1st Place after swiss). I wish I had the courage to put them in on the Friday before. At the Sunday revival I‘ve decided to finally cut Iceblocks and leave Hiram hanging on 4 Items and to include McDuck Manor and my Goofs, that I replaced with QoH prior, which was a huge mistake. Quickly I found out that the Ruby players I faced were completely overwhelmed by Half Sharks followed by McDuck Manor. This gave me the confidence to try this deck again for NA continentals. I went home and immediately started testing and theorycrafting for hours and hours. While testing I noted EVERYTHING down, so I could analyze my games after a while. That gave me a lot of data to work with! For example, I realized that I inked Tamatoa most of the time and that my winrate wasn‘t impacted by him most of the time. So I finally got convinced that he wasn‘t worth the slot. After I‘ve found a build that I liked, the true grind began. What lines exist? What about the mulligan? What if xyz happens, how do I react? When should I ink what, when should I stop inking? After roughly 450 matches and a huge amount of notes I came down to my NA list, which was only 2 cards different from my current version: 2 Sisu vs 3rd Hiram, 3rd Tala. At the NA continentals my deck ran so well until I faced Mo. I don‘t know why I didn‘t do my lines as I planned and it ruined my run. Mo played well and he deserved the win! But it was also the time I noticed something. The 2 Sisu were too expensive. How could I overlook this simple fact? Going over 6-7 ink fast is not always given with this deck and I never summoned Sisu the entire tournament besides one time just because I had nothing else to do. And now against Mo she clogged my hand, I needed that extra ink. This was the time I realized how much „old knowledge“ held me back.

@MrZuhmbL @rulesofvillainy @GrapesGCC Let‘s gooooo Ye sometimes you cannot beat the aggressive starts, but normal RB would lose even faster against it 🫠😂 Also it‘s called „Dinh a little Lore“😩 How was Scar?

@Lampi_Ygo Never saw someone tackling a meta with an off meta deck like @DinhKhaBui did For me he is def the best! Nobody else has the aura where you know they will reach at least T4 or higher when they attend a ycs with their own spice
