I am on the lookout for cricket media job openings/opportunities in the UK, aiming to start after the completion of my MA in Digital Media in the fall.
If anybody comes across anything, I would appreciate if you sent it my way!
RCB! Where do I start? I was 8, and now I'm 24, I celebrated this first cup with the joy of a child and the tears of a fan who has seen every kind of disappointment in the last 16 years. This is more than a sporting triumph; it's a celebration of our sporting fandom. Savour it!
In the middle of Stokes’ interview, Rohit Sharma emerged from the nets, gave Pant and Thakur a gentle whack with the bat and got a massive roar from the crowd.
There isn’t a more worthless, hypocritical fanbase than CSK in cricket. So spoiled by success that they lack grace and the ability to be anything but sore losers.
Policing celebrations and morality when they’ll have done the exact same.
CSK fans are top-tiers. If they had defeated RCB, they would have trolled RCB.
Now, they are just hiding behind Kohli's celebrations as an excuse. They would have been mad regardless. You've been watching Kohli for 15 years, his celebrations and aggression aren't new.
The Dhoni incident was one of those moments that showed the IPL was a farce, with the superstars allowed to do whatever they please. He should have been banned for five games in a fair world.
MS legit entered the field in an ongoing game, held up the game, had an altercation with umpires, thats being celebrated as an Alpha Male event!!
Young guy celebrating after taking a wicket is an issue here!
This sport can never evolve!
Looking forward to Shreyanka Patil playing for RCB for the next decade. Feel so happy for her - a local girl bringing the cup back home after watching in the stands for so long. Street-smart player, champion mentality, lovely personality.
Hasaranga over Chahal was the correct choice regardless. Who knew the unserious IPL would introduce a new rule next year changing dynamics completely?
People analyse decisions for a 11-man tournament with Impact Player context now.
Shane Watson on Jio Cinema:
"There’s definitely someone at RCB who doesn't know much about cricket. That's why he let Yuzi Chahal go."
Watson realizes Mike Hesson is standing with him in the panel and goes,"I am not talking about this great man here." 😂😂
This is ridiculous, they've completely ignored the culture of the country. Typical to portray India as about rice, spicy food, poverty, poor English and cringy music. India don't need a White saviour. We're good without them.
News: Germany relegated.
Coach’s brain:
Don't say it
Don’t say it
Don't say it
Don't say it
Don't say it
Don't say it
Don't say it
Me: That’s a new Löw.
If someone had done this in India, people would have screamed about disrespecting the home soil. This was over the top and unnecessary. Many Indians cried about Marsh and the cup though…
With news that
@MichaelBeale
will be joining Steven Gerrard's coaching team at Rangers, there is no better time to plug my piece on him from September for
@thesefootytimes
. Wish him the best of luck in Scotland.
Thrilled to announce that I'm now a senior writer for
@thesefootytimes
. Just got the news today, and wow, absolutely stoked. One of my long-term goals for a year and a half now.
Thanks for all your support. On to bigger and brighter things! 😇
It’s been a long and difficult three years - but there’s been a lot of growth and learning, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Graduated today! I’ll miss Uni of, my friends and course-mates, and the city above all. Sheffield ❤️
The second of my
@theshortpass
pieces looks at everyone's favourite South Korean, the prospect of military service and his escape route. A story that deserves more traction.
[rts very much appreciated]
🆕: I tell the story of El Tigre, arguably the best poacher seen in recent years, and definitely the world’s best in the 2010s. His is an exceptional story.
@FALCAO
, a hero.

United's recent domestic cup draws:
Newcastle (h)
Palace (h)
Fulham (h)
West Ham (h)
Reading (h)
Charlton (h)
Everton (h)
Burnley (h)
Villa (h)
Boro (h)
Villa (h)
West Ham (h)
And then you hit an away tie in the 2020-21 season (in which 3/7 were home)
NRR is the simplest application of the math we studied in school. If people get confused, then maths should be abolished as a standard subject.
Having five games at the same time will never happen. Besides, why aren’t people complaining about the unequal groups instead?
There are two changes that I’d propose for next season’s IPL
1. Introduction of the Bonus Points for winning a game with a huge margin. NRR is absolute but over 14 games is a tough math to understand. Bonus point is a tangible reward for playing significantly better. And also,
Rapinoe. Golden ball, golden boot, goal in the final. Walked the talk. Truly an icon and a role model for all young girls aspiring to become footballers. Or anything really. Her legacy will extend beyond the pitch.
🆕: Mo Salah's been a revelation in the Premier League this season. He's been both magical and mesmerising. Here's my
@thesefootytimes
piece on the Pharaoh.

7 of the 12 highest strike rates in an IPL innings have come from an RCB player. AB (twice), Akhil, DK, Kohli, Gayle and Sarfaraz.
The other 5 are Morris, Shashank Singh, Cummins, Albie Morkel and Russell. The latter two came against RCB.
It’s ridiculous they’ve dropped Rinku from the squad. A player who’ve put no foot wrong in his brief international T20I career so far. He should be a bonafide starter, but he’s a reserve. Terrible decision.
This T20 WC has been so refreshing. After two months of T20s, you’d think we’d be tired but no, it’s the opposite!
No wide reviews, timeouts, Impact Player, countless awards, endless games.
Pure cricket. Love it ❤️
#nz
have won the toss in their last four ICC knockout/play-off games.
2019 ODI WC semi - batted first
2019 ODI WC final - batted first
2021 WTC final - bowled first
2022 WT20 semi - bowled first
Timothy Weah was a fun person to talk to. Impressed by his play so far, but also his personality. Here's my piece on my chat with him post-match for
@realsportgoals
. One to look out for in the years to come.

MCG, Sydney, Gabba, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lords. We’ve been treated to some iconic Indian wins in the last nine months. What an absolute privilege to watch these guys.
Yes, I consider the draw a win given that was exactly how it made us feel.
Wrote a bit about me on
#WorldMentalHealthDay
. It was tough but also freeing to do so. I find it important to be open about mental health, and that starts with me.
You never know what pushes someone down a spiral, so don’t judge. Be kind, be nice. Much love to all ❤️
Some stats:
- Virat has now jumped to No 4 on the Orange Cap list.
- FAF is now
#8
on the list of most runs in an IPL season. He’ll need 34 more to make it to
#4
- Maxwell and FAF are now the 4th and 5th highest run scorers in RCB history.
🚨Info: Vincent Aboubakar 🇨🇲💫.
▫️Besiktas négocie avec Nir Zahavi, le représentant de l'attaquant camerounais.
▫️Besiktas s'active pour trouver un remplaçant à Weghorst 🇳🇱 qui a donné son accord pour rejoindre Manchester United.
I just don’t think beating Tunisia in injury time, thrashing a woeful Panama, losing to Belgium and getting a favourable draw, squeezing past Colombia and seeing off Sweden via GK heroics is worthy of a World Cup triumph.
It’s just me, I know.
I’m really pleased to have written my first piece for
@thesetpieces
. I spoke to
@AshwinRaman_
about his journey so far, with insights from
@Steviegrieve
.
Happy with how this turned out. RTs appreciated.
Meet 17-year-old
@AshwinRaman_
, the football data genius who's picked up a job at Dundee United... from his bedroom in India.
@rahulw_
tells his incredible story
Now that summer’s here, I’m looking for paid freelance work for the Euros and general football. I’m also free and available to write and speak on cricket, especially the India vs England series.
Are there any opportunities out there? Keen to get back into writing.
Are you serious
@KeralaBlasters
- is this how you want this game and our league and Indian football to be depicted globally? Is this how you want all your thousands of fans to remember this team and this manager? This is a disgrace - congratulations to
@bengalurufc
- semis!
A big thank you to Mike Hesson. If there was any three year period I would have wanted us to be competent, it was 2020-2022. RCB provided a lot of joy in the pandemic years and Hesson did a great job at bringing us back from the dumpster szn of 2019.
We thank 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 and 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫 for their commendable work during the stints as 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 of RCB. 🙌

@CoachHesson
The slowest fifty of Virat Kohli’s T20I career came in a famous Indian triumph, but things could easily have gone the other way.
Virat Kohli, India's T20 World Cup final hero, was almost a villain writes
@ovshake42
:
RCB are properly stacked. Star power, experience, balance, good mix of domestic players. I'm so excited - more for the WPL than the IPL. This is going to be a great season. Can't wait.
