⬇️ Yes I’ve been repeatedly asking for the Regional Crisis Intervention Service (announced Aug 21) to be funded. It would join up crisis services, including C&V, & provide alternatives to EDs. There are egs of good practice, but all aspects of the service are desperately needed.
5. It is an absolute disgrace people with significant mental health issues are sitting for hours on end in overcrowded ED's. This issue was raised by Nipsa with @profsiobhanon and must be seen to be addressed as a priority. It is a failure of the Health system this remains.

6/ Yet again, these issues would be addressed with full implementation of the Mental Health Strategy. The whole Executive must find the money to deliver this Strategy *in full*. Because right now we don’t even have full staffing for existing services.

2/ Autistic people should be able to access mental health services, & should never be denied a service because they have autism (nor should they wait longer than anyone else). This is reflected in MH Strategy action 7. Read it in full⬇️

@PKellagher Absolutely true, and the underinvestment in the strategy over the past couple of years invariably means that we have lost time. Although we don’t have year on year targets (yet) so we don’t really know how far behind we are.
