We welcome the findings of this report as it highlights the importance of a trauma-informed approach to our public services & the need for more investment in our early intervention and prevention work We have plan for that with the Mental Health Strategy but it needs investment

NISRA have released the 2023 Suicide Stats. Remember these stats show the registered deaths, not the number of deaths that occurred in that year. This is why we look at trends in 3 yr averages instead of yr by yr Suicide is preventable & every death by suicide is a tragedy.
Latest figures published today from NISRA show that 221 deaths from suicide were registered in NI in 2023. Three-year averages show a rise from 204.7 suicide deaths in 2017 to 220.3 in 2021 and have remained at a similar level since (220.3 in 2023).

If so, please respond to this short survey to guide the future of services in this area by close-of-business Monday 3 February 2025 🗒️💻 EY has been commissioned by the Department of Health to conduct a review of the scope, scale, and capacity of the C&V (community and voluntary) sector with the aim of fully integrating the C&V sector in mental health service delivery as part of the Mental Health Strategy 2021-31.
