A big thanks to all our daytime Approved Social Work (ASW) members for the brilliant turnout and for meeting us this morning. Our consultative ballot came back with 100% support from all our ASW members for Nipsa's proposal to deal with protracted waits.

**Pay Update** The HSC pay award will now be backdated to May 2024 following allocation of additional monies. It has also been confirmed that this will be paid in the March salary for all AFC staff.

To conclude, that until these issues are significantly addressed, Nipsa will advise our members to continue to contact the PSNI if their assessment is there is a risk to public safety. The consequences not to, are potentially too significant and safety remains No1 priority.

For more that 50 years NI has had an integrated health and social care system the envy of the world. Today it is a mess. Reform, they say, is the answer, so lets start with addressing the continued failure of the Dept. of Health, who have overseen this ongoing shambles for years.
“Less talking more action” - a call for health officials to do more. Those on the ground call it out and say they’re frustrated by lack of action and direction.

5. Whilst there are wider policy and strategic challenges, getting the basics in place now will allow space for much needed reform and planning. It is unconscionable to allow the current level of emergency care to repeat itself indefinitely as we have seen across the media.
