They are NOT trained to be doctors. Why do they say differently. Different to what. Their training is nothing to do with being a doctor. They are trained to be assistants.

as a (ex) college tutor i struggled to give US ir lists to the core trainees (especially after the curriculum changed) to get basic IR skills. where I work there was talking about ANPs doing us guided ir which we pushed back as we need those lists for training

Sending you the very best wishes in your recovery. It enraged me how they are absolutely unsuitable to be around any patient in any post. The complete lack of empathy and the laughing emojis made my blood boil and left me enraged. It undermines the trust in healthcare workers.

People don't know the difference between a radiographer and a radiologist so 'consultant' just confuses them further. Consultant name should be for doctors only to be clear and transparent and avoid confusion.

Many years ago as a JD, it never crossed my mind that a non medical staff would dare to use my login to order tests illegally. Naive? Yes. like in a cheap teledrama! We trusted and respected each other and got each others back and logged each other out if one forgot to do so.

Do the non-medical endoscopist cover the rota? Thought not. We must train our doctor colleagues who are willing to do that, take responsibility for the patient, not cherry pick and not just do the easy life 9-5. No. Doctors can't just do the difficult procedures to avoid burnout.

I invest time in my trainees and they do make my work life easy... Sometimes 😬. I see surgical specialities investing in their very talented SAS doctors and helping them to CEsAr and they do make their work life easy! So icu consultant's not a valid argument.

We had a 'we are all in this together' feel. Not anymore. There'll be herds of junior consultants like me sacrificing our youth & time with our kids only to be told we're not worth the money & the training can be achieved in 2 years with better pay with no oncalls and weekends .

Once you pass exams the college fee will be around 500, the ceremony is around a 1000 and there is a fee to get your cct as well. 😞

I genuinely think rotation is to be blamed. If doctors stayed in one place they would not treat them so badly and they would find their voice. I know I would have when I was one.

So 1 to 1 makes PAs pointless and an expensive untrained extra pair of hands. Why don't you invest in the real future and supervise your registrars instead? Or even those FY2s and SHOs who go through anaesthetic/ICU rotation to make them want to do anaesthetic?

Tension right ptx, iatrogenic from a left subclavian line (tip is in the right pleural space), et tube, Ng tube, left chest drain and left haemothorax/ruptured diaphragm. Needs a right chest tube quick and don't remove the left subclavian line ..Yet ,need to know it's course...
