Dear PCP, rectal bleeding + pain during defecation that persists for wks is NOT hemorrhoids, it’s usually an anal fissure, but you still need to 👀 to prove it. If not, totally fine, just refer to colorectal, but don’t send them out with steroid ointment and dx hemorrhoids 🙏🏽.
