Masking is back in patient care areas @hopkinssurgery today given a rise in respiratory illnesses & associated hospitalizations. Probably what we always should have been doing & now will continue with post COVID norms. Stay home if sick folks & wear a mask if you must go out.

He continues : “all the other residents are making fun of me as I’m not twitter famous. You haven’t posted anything about me.” 🙃 There is something you can appreciate about all of your educators in life. Happy to! #surgtweeting #surgicaleducation

Starting 2025 out by helping others with my skill set. 1st thought when you get called in on a holiday/weekend to do an urgent case is definitely 😣. 2nd is to realize someone else is having a very bad holiday & you have an opportunity to help. Happy New Year! @hopkinssurgery

@TheHappySlut1 You should thank him for not wasting more of your time. I know it is painful to feel rejected, I’ve been there, but my goodness you are worth so much more than being blown off. Wait for a real man that can tell you if he has lost interest.

@shycollie @dr_cellini He actually doesn’t mention salary. Maybe I’m projecting but I think it is more about loss of autonomy & respect. That may be fixed in private but private groups are becoming rare given difficulty in overhead & working with insurance while competing with the big health systems.

@shycollie @dr_cellini As a 2nd year med student on my 1st clinical rotation I was asked to consult IR. I had to ask what they do, as I’d never heard of IR before that & the response was “they are the magicians of the hospital.” As a surgeon in a large academic center I certainly value their skills!

@rwinfield11 @KU_Surgery So so sad for him & his family. Christian always had so much to offer - he was smart, so funny, & never afraid to speak his mind. He was a trusted colleague & handled his illness with such grace. He will be missed.

@SusannaWang_MS That’s impressive! It’s an obscure sport but really so awesome for so many reasons. I’m so happy my daughter discovered synchro.

Also proud of myself for prioritizing my girl. I was team mom. My 8 year old thanked me at the end of the day. 🥹 For anyone who needs to hear it - you can absolutely be a successful surgeon & an awesome mom. It’s all about choices. #surgparenting
