@EricKnauerMD @OMGhanemMD @EHechenbleikner @EdLinEmory Nothing new here, they did this instead of B2. Some people do this technique for their bypass. However, higher chance of internal hernia. Classic paper describing this.

@ehlJAMA @SAGES_Updates @AmCollSurgeons we need more sessions on how to interpret basic surgical data and overall peer review process. I know an "expert."

@JAMA_current Is this how the journal operates? Open biases by editors? 2 valid arguments with no connection between the two? Worry this is happening during peer-review process.

@ehlJAMA We should be fighting low reimbursement with more advocacy, not stifling innovation and technology. No mention what other specialities do, maybe go watch what your ortho and neuro colleagues do in their ORs and maybe your perspective may change.

@ehlJAMA Here is an argument for robotic cholecystectomies, backed up with the cleanest data currently available.

@ehlJAMA Several fields have shown superiority for robotic procedures like in complex cardiac, oncology, hernia, foregut, urology, and bariatrics. It is a young field and data is showing some difference. We should be mindful about where it is being used but not discourage blankly.

@ehlJAMA Comments feel inappropriate coming from an editor of JAMA, who should be evaluating all information without any bias. You are correct that robotic technology is expensive but so was laparoscopy in the 90s. I doubt anyone will argue that we should go back to open which is cheaper.
