In America if you want to expand public infrastructure and replace segregationist land use regulations they call you Ronald Reagan.

@yhdistyminen Based on "Filtering" aka "trickle down", the push to "just let anyone buy property", and their desire to "make it easy for devs to build whatever they want" all leading to what will result in more inequality because only devs with money can build...would they prefer neo-YIMBY?

I think YIMBYism offends many urban activists because they believe (a) that housing is fundamentally zero sum, and (b) that educated middle class newcomers to big cities (yuppies) do not have moral standing to make demands of local government in their own material self interest.

Little Girl: “I’m a boy.” Mother: “You’re not a boy. Don’t ever say that again. You’re a girl. You understand me? Jesus made you a girl, so you’re a girl. It’s what you’re meant to be and what you’ll only ever be.” It’s literally that simple 👏🏼👇🏼

We should make housing at this height legal to build in every city in the United States.

There's a group of people who insist that the Democrats should not be working to get more votes, and if you call them out on this they'll accuse *you* of being the closet Republican.

Great news! SB 79 — which would speed up housing construction in transit corridors — just passed both houses of the CA legislature. We need more housing in CA — for workers, for seniors, for students, for families. Let's build it!

Why are you ignoring that this black man got up and helped her? It's almost like that completely ruins your narrative.

@micah_erfan They do not care about an Ukranian getting killed, they don't care about a woman getting killed, they don't care about a war refugee geting killed. Only thing they care about feeding their racist agenda and cherry-picking media for this narative. They are evil, and they know it.

Pretty wild how much California and the northeast fumbled the bag. So many people want to live there, but can’t because of disastrous housing policy.

Here's a map of population growth by state throughout the 21st century. Warm, sunny states, especially the Southeast and TX, are booming. The Mountain West also has healthy growth. The Northeast and Midwest struggling.

We have an absurd amount of land on which we could build homes in this country. Even in California. Fighting communities who absolutely don’t want to expand is dumb and a waste of breath. We should hyper sprawl.

NEW: A property tax revolt is spreading throughout the country, fueled by rising home values and tightening budgets. Now, a once-fringe idea to abolish property taxes entirely is gaining new energy — and it’s shaking up Republican politics. https://t.co/0TMh1Re3t6

If you point out automobile dependence is a public health scourge and that the tip of the iceberg—traumatic, violent, sudden, severe blunt force trauma injuries—has been the leading cause of child and young adult disability and death for ~a century it sounds crazy. But it’s true.
