Why is a state with a Democrat supermajority cutting transit funding, while Minnesota DFL which holds the MN Senate by one seat, passed the largest transit expansion in state history.
This is an absolute disaster. Governor Moore campaigned on transit expansion, while his proposed budget kills essentially all expansion and slashes service funding. This will have devastating impacts on both the MTA and WMATA.

I’m tired of residents of Minneapolis that don’t think they live in a dense urban city…. If you don’t want the possibility of light rail going by your condo there are plenty of suburbs to live in that don’t have that.

The ironic thing is they are waiting for people to come downtown for work, if they just opened the food hall people living in the downtown area would just frequent it, like stop forgetting 60,000 people live in downtown Minneapolis.
The Daytons Project Signature Food Hall curated by celebrity chief Andrew Zimmern has approximately 20 vendors, some of which are rotating options.
This has been my go to for lunch, dinner and drinks ever since it opened in 2019.

This should only happen if the city agrees to 24/7 bus lanes on Hennepin Ave in downtown Minneapolis, you need to keep connections on local routes between the 10, 11, 17, 18 and 4 and 6. Moving Nicollet Mall buses to Marq/2 would be an awful experience for transit riders

I have to be realistic, rail is not going to be built along I94 when the Green Line is 2 blocks to the north. A dedicated transit lane for BRT and Express buses will be the best we get.
Big rethink i-94 meeting was today and 95% of public comments supported a boulevard conversion. Alot of people also supported a cut and cover rail line!

In that same time period I rode transit 346 times, and so far 92 times in 2024.
The current Metropolitan Council members have been in office for a little over a year now. Members can ride transit in the Twin Cities for free with their ID badges, so I submitted a data request to see how often they rode in the past year.

Most disabled people in urban cores use public transit, either a dial-a-ride service or fixed route if they can. Also, cars are allowed to pick up and drop off people on 14th, they just have to take the next available right turn afterwards!

This why when certain politicians say just build BRT instead of LRT, I just shake my head. Along with that none of the BRT we are building in the Twin Cities has level boarding for our ADA riders like our existing and under construction LRT lines do.
