It’s January 1. That means today, Minnesota’s new Earned Sick and Safe Time law goes into effect.

Social workers started embedding in libraries when it became clear that libraries attract people who might not seek government services elsewhere. Andrea Hansen-Miller, who works in the Minneapolis Central Library, calls it “meeting people where they are.”
