This is nothing. Wait till you hear about how sections of Indian population rioted to prevent thousands of refugees from neighbouring countries getting a one-time expedited path to citizenship.
Next time Delhi whines about Indians having to wait “800 days” for US visas,it should remember how it has denied 2,500 Afghan students, many of them women,visas to return& resume their studies because of “trust and efficiency issues”.
Statistically, India has the best bowling attack in the world since Kohli took over. They've conceded 2 fewer runs for every wicket they've taken than any other side. Mighty Aussies have given away 3.5 more runs for every wicket. So why do comms & writers call Aussie attack best?
Wonder why no one asked this question to Australia or New Zealand in 2015. I would also include Pakistan in 2023 who played their last 2 of their last 3 league matches at what would've been their semi-final venue, but they were too mediocre to even make the final four.
America is a deeply divided country, but the left & right are united in their hatred of anything Indian. Only until they can steal, repackage, and sell to rest of the world.

I like that he didn't post this picture before or during the game to chase clout. I might have missed it, but I don't think I even saw him on the live coverage.
Still can't get over that piece of fielding from Jadeja. Boundary line diving/relay catches are easy to appreciate, but what's the degree of difficulty on running in 30 yards to your wrong side, gathering one-handed, and putting in a flat af direct hit on one stump from 40 yards?
MCG, Gabba, 2-day win at Motera followed by an improbable innings win a week later, and now Lord's. All this in a span of 8 months. Every win on the back of losing the toss. The Indian team is setting the bar damn high & I don't think any other side comes close to clearing it.
Tbf, the CSK fans seemed content watching Dhoni hit some garbage time sixes. So it's better if a team whose fans actually want to see their side win makes the playoffs.
US | On this day, we thank the incredible south Asian community all across America for their optimism, courage & empathy. Together, South Asian Americans reflect the soul of who we are as a nation: US President Joe Biden on Diwali at White House
Lost badly to WI, lost badly to India despite winning the toss, lost to Australia despite winning the toss, barely beat Afghanistan & New Zealand, dropped 7 catches vs a hapless SA & won by 49. But yeah, apart from that Pak totally deserved to be in the semis.

Weren't you reminding us of Rahul's recent overseas exploits instead of asking for him to be dropped for not performing in Asia? What changed that you now think it's unfair to drop Bharat given the batsmen themselves are underperforming?
Why Shashi, wasn't a visibly Sikh man not PM of India for a decade? But if you're admitting he was a puppet PM, I should remind you that the puppeteer is herself from a visible minority
If this does happen, I think all of us will have to acknowledge that theBrits have done something very rare in the world,to place a member of a visible minority in the most powerful office. As we Indians celebrate the ascent of
@RishiSunak
, let's honestly ask: can it happen here?
A team that carried a non-performer like Kohli for 16 games really doesn't deserve to be in the final. Rajasthan, on the other hand, have come this far despite losing 13 out of 16 tosses.

He didn't "take a game off" her because she called him a thief. He did it because it was her third violation of the match. Same guy penalised Djokovic for getting coached & unsportsmanlike behaviour. It's pathetic that some people are enabling her boorishness.
Can you ever imagine anyone say this about a movie highlighting crimes committed against black people? Tells you just how elite Indians have prostrated themselves in service of the West.
So,
#SardarUdhamSingh
didn't make it as India's Oscars entry as it apparently projects "hatred" of British.
Well, truth is often unpalatable. We will no longer whitewash colonial crimes. And we will tell our stories our way, on our terms, not theirs.
Just saw the Fakhar run out. Can't believe there's a law against what QdK did. If anything, the batsman should be penalised 5 runs for being so stupid.
Apparently, India who won 3 ICC titles in 6 years & lost just 2 games in those 3 tournaments are less worthy of being called a dynasty than an England side that would've lost 4 games across 2 ICC tourneys & failed to outscore the opposition in the final of one of them.

a) Bill covered all religious minorities
b) Ethnic minorities have never made an en masse plea to seek Indian citizenship
c) If you actually cared about religious minorities, you wouldn't hold their citizenship hostage to everyone getting it. You'd try & pass it the way CAA was.

Maybe it's just me, but a hug & a handshake to a player openly standing against Putin would be a better show. But we know the West believes Ukrainians are right to react in any way they like. If only the same courtesy were extended to others.
Hitting Afridi over midwicket, extra cover, fine leg. Smashing Rauf over his head, flicking over fine leg off the stumps. Absolutely unbelieveable composure. It's one thing to do it in the IPL. It's another to do it against 2 of the 5 best bowlers in the world.
@alexstamos
Alex, have you considered the possibility that platforms like the wire might be a threat to Indian democracy & your worldview makes it harder for you to recognise it?
Since 1900, 55 bowlers have taken at least 50 wickets against Australia. Jadeja has the lowest average among them. And if you think he's a home bully, he averages under 22 Down Under.

Unpopular for a very good reason. A President who refuses to step aside despite failing faculties deserves every bit of scorn coming his way when his country is turning into a joke.

While 5-fors in SA, Eng, Aus in a calendar year stat is an awesome stat, get this: Bumrah is the first Asian bowler to take a 5-for in his maiden tour of those 3 countries. What's even more exceptional is THOSE ARE THE FIRST 3 TOURS OF HIS TEST CAREER!

BJP supporters who mock AAP would do well to remember the party's humble beginnings despite being formed on the back of the Jan Sangh. The biggest mistake you can make in a win is to underestimate your opponents.
Seeing a lot of Tweets poking fun at Kejriwal and AAP for their GJ and HP performances.
In GJ, they have gone to 13% vote share. I think that is significant and not to be scoffed at.

This isn't Ashwin's day job. If you like the content as much as you claim, you'd come back to watch with subtitles when they're available. If anything, more Indian cricketers need to do what he does instead of focusing on English.
One shouldn't talk about what one doesn't understand. You're getting that recommendation based on what you watch. The platform is pretty agnostic in what it presents to viewers.
@cricBC
Agree with the sentiment. Even accounting for the fact that India has far more venues than any other country, they haven't lost more than a Test at any of them since 2007.
@thekaipullai
Expats don't love cricket any less. And while the PNG story is truly heartwarming, what cricket really needs is countries with large economies taking up the sport on a large scale.
@Cold_Peace_
Can you blame us? Guy danced around like a clown in Indian wedding attire & then told us we must listen to the demands of rioters. Demands that run contrary to what Canada has been asking of India at multiple economic forums.
This is the most in control I've seen Kohli since the 80-odd in Adelaide. While India won't need his runs as much in Indore & Ahmedabad, it's going to be difficult winning the WTC final without him making a significant contribution.
India lost two Test champion finals in English conditions. Not a single fan, player, commentator complained about unfavorable conditions. England lost one game on a turning pitch in a semi final where they were lucky to qualify, the entire system is in the middle to a meltdown.
Laws that can be overturned through the violence veto, a police force that only enforces the law on the pliant, and courts which are accountable to no one but themselves. Apart from that, you're spot on.
Exactly. India is a constitutional democracy. It has politicians in office making laws, it has police who enforce laws, and it has courts adjudicating disputes the underlying source of all this power are the people.

I know Ian Bishop rightly gets a lot of love for his epic calls, but Vivek Razdan's calls are really memorable for the Indian audience & broadcasters should do more to promote them.
@ConradkBarwa
You should be. Someone gave you the chance to list down all the terrible laws that deprive Indian minorities rights that the majority enjoy, and the best you could come up with was a lame-ass insult even 6-year-olds would laugh at.
So on reflection, Williamson has said it's a shame the tournament was decided the way it was and no one has criticised him for saying that. Contrast this with Kohli being roasted for answering a question about the format in which he never said he would want a different one.
Rayudu dropped 3 innings after a hundred (123 SR), 5 after a 73 (91 SR), 8 after a 57 (SR 116). Jadhav not assured a place in the side despite having a 40+ avg. & 96+ SR every calendar year since 2015. But we must celebrate narrow series win over mediocre side.

Ravi's gender has absolutely nothing to do with her arrest. It's why Shantanu also got arrested. But you must make it about absolutely unrelated things so people don't talk about her actions. For once, have the courage to not infuse identity politics where there's no such angle.
30+ overs in & the inspirational skipper hasn't thrown the ball to the guy best suited to dismiss right-hand batsmen. Tell me again how Kohli is a bad captain.
SC/ST/OBC Reservations cannot apply to minority institutions even if govt funded. They can admit 50% minority students. However, for the remaining 50% seats, a minority student can also be admitted on merit and it will not be counted in the 50% minority quota. - Madras High Court
Funny that the word chinaman has been erased from cricketing lexicon even though it wasn't originally used as a pejorative, but mankading is freely used by cricketers, journalists, fans.
The problem is not that Pakistan lectures India. It's that so many Indians with socioeconomic clout continue to have zero sense of perspective on this issue.
