I was laid off from Bally Sports yesterday. I am incredibly bummed, because I loved the work and the team I was on. But I also plan on continuing to cover women's basketball and Olympic sports, so I don't think you've heard the last of me just yet.

I can't speak to women's hockey but I do know this is also quite true in WBB. One thing people who are full-time can do to help those who aren't is be thoughtful to ask questions that are for more than just your story, or even offer to ask questions for people who can't be there.
Remember to support the folks who are dedicated to covering women's hockey.
The majority of credentialed media covering this sport have day jobs. An 11 a.m. ET press conference on a weekday is difficult for a lot of us, to say the least. It excludes a lot of dedicated creators.

Reminder for all of my non-WNBA media friends who are going to talk about the WNBA in coming weeks because of the playoff race and then the playoffs:
1. Conferences mean nothing in playoff standings. Top 8 teams overall qualify.
2. It's semifinals, not conference finals.
