The #NFL support for #ChicagoBears matriarch Virginia McCaskey is no surprise - Commissioner Roger Goodell’s wife, Jane Skinner-Goodell is a Chicagoan & Northwestern Journalism graduate and had a special relationship with Mrs. McCaskey. After ending her FOX TV career she has contributed to female forward initiatives in the league — checkout the “Lifetime of Sundays” doc on women owners in the NFL. It’s well worth the watch.

I am truly saddened at the passing of #VirginiaMcCaskey. She opened her Des Plaines home to me 20 years ago for an interview and did not disappoint me in showing her compassion yet Stern conviction to carry on what her father intended for the #ChicagoBears organization make no mistake. She was sweet, but very tough! She was not a career woman, but rather a woman who due to circumstances was left to carry on what her father had started. Her face guided her and will live on at Hall Hall in a beautiful chapel built there while the business side will be interesting as it unfolds with the team I celebrate a strong woman and the life she made. God bless the entire McCaskey family and the Chicago Bears organization.
