One of their spokespeople told me that they always have vegan, halal and gluten free options available inside the encampment. Very quintessentially college behavior
the actual encampment at Columbia—i'm here after teaching my final class of the semester—is downright tranquil, impossibly sweet. there is a "nut zone" for the safety of kids with allergies.

As someone who loves the history of counterculture, it’s really strange to me that people associate dressing well/being into clothes with wealth. Some of the most distinctive fashion of the 20th century came from the working class
lots of ppl here can't imagine why someone would be into clothes other than to signal wealth and status. aside from private pleasure, many ppl are not trying to impress the public, but rather their peers. look at the history of Mods, Teddy Boys, rockers, Lo Heads, punks, etc.
