I mean I really get that, I'm not fan of Urobuchi but think that Madoka is maybe one of the best TV anime. It just has such a capable staff lineup all around that it becomes almost too easy to downplay his contributions.

Current reads kinda. Reading Alexander’s commentary on the Prior Analytics for uni stuff and Heidegger I just started. We’ll see how long it takes before I deem myself filtered and seek secondary literature instead / switch to Husserl.

Finished this. Never getting rewatched, just glad that it's over. I think I was too harsh on it on my initial watch, it's definitely not entirely ass there are genuinely nice episodes in there but overall yeah its not that good.

I feel like just replaying Bloodborne for the third time this year. Need to do a lore focused playthrough. Obviously I paid attention to it before but haven’t gone hardcore loremode on that game. It should be really worth it considering it has such an amazingly written setting.

With Eva reception the topic of production issues often comes up and sure it may have had some but every episode is very high quality. Some of it is peak levels for TV anime. Add the storyboards and art direction and I don’t see modern audiences crying over it too much.
I often wonder how people would react if Evangelion came out today. How would they talk about the show's production issues? Would they think that the ambiguous writing and unexplored concepts were "plot holes," and would they mock and ridicule the writers for them?
