It's neither as visually strong or as narratively dense as Violet Evergarden which has a very similar structure, it's better than Maquia but still has an extremely similar story and tone, it's not as atmospheric or mystical as Mushishi, it's not as creative as Magus' Bride.

Idgaf okay it healed something in me and every episode is a beautiful poem. No other anime uses every minute of its anime as effective and efficient as Frieren which is very meta to the theme of the story. Peak anime.
