saying haikyuu isn’t political when a major theme of the series is how socioeconomic status effects the opportunities you get in life is certainly a take.
it's literally just volleyball. it has no complex themes or moral issues or great conflicts. it's weird to compare it to battle shonen. also the ending of hq was just fanservice, which doesn't equal to amazing writing imo.

maybe i’m crazy but having a female character who likes ‘perverted’ things isn’t that ground breaking if she’s still the object of sexual desire instead of the one desiring.
Throughout this series, Marin is always the one pushing societal boundaries of what is considered acceptable for girls to like. She plays eroge, watches ecchi anime, and loves underboob. This is who she is. And this is why the series has fanservice.

why is an unoriginal shounen ‘classic’ but an unoriginal shoujo ‘cliche’ #nooticing.
If someone uses "feels like classic shonen" to try to say something is good you know it's mediocre at best.

it’s crazy how yuri and shoujo fans are the only manga communities that have to prove their virtue before people will even consider reading their stories.
This is incredibly disingenuous. People promote separating the fandom from the actual works but when the work is centered around women suddenly people don't want to read/watch it because "oh the fanbase".

no cause why is it that there is so much demand for battle shounen with a good romantic subplot, but when a shoujo series does just that it’s not marketable?.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN THIS IS THE VOLUME 24 COVER FOR QUEEN'S QUALITY?!. Wow, really, we're being cheated no one is investing on a Queen's Quality anime when it's one of the prime shoujo manga to adapt into an anime for.

@wlwyoshiden real life women are exploited and abused by the porn industry, but you’re more concerned about fictional SA???.

@WRiver64 women making up a 1/3 of wsj readers is a conservative estimate, so yes they would make significantly less money without their female audience.

@Biomegabear girl…a north american imprint and a japanese manga publication are two very different things.

everyone who says “utena was made by men” owes chiho saito 200$ and their first born child.
So apparently Citrus is bad because it reads like it was made “by men for men,” despite being written by a woman (who is likely wlw). Meanwhile, Revolutionary Girl Utena is revered as one of the best yuri works of all time, despite being written and directed by two men 🧐

@azucatcuddle apparently i don’t actually care about female characters and am just making an excuse to ship men and hate on women despite the fact that i’m not even a gay shipper 😭😭😭

anyways…. if you want to see a series about embracing your hobbies despite social expectations that isn’t objectifying here you go
my dress up darling has some of the most uplifting messages about enjoying your hobbies and discovering blooming love and it's so disheartening to watch others paint a disgusting image to falsely comprehend a series that isn’t even remotely fetishistic or objectifying. .

cause y’all just assume that media made for women is devoid of depth or meaning.
"humans only have one ending. ideas live forever" if u told me that's a line from a barbie movie 5 years ago i wouldn't have believed u #Barbie
